Ron Boone love. "The Legend"

Boone is awesome. Come to think of it, he's one of the only (or simply only) people in the franchise who was here since the finals (unless you count Jerry's peripheral role).

Also, the guy is a fan of the game. I think he's fairly unbiased and usually calls things for what they are. Guy says awkward stuff, but he's the man and has been a quiet staple in this franchise for decades.
Arena announcer Dan Roberts has been with the team at least as long, BTW. I know him. He's a good guy. He is the longest tenured arena announcer in the league.

I personally find Boone the best announcer from those who call Jazz games. He is not as annoying as Harpring and doesn't call every long jumper a three pointer.

When I listen to Ron Boone's delightfully gracious and soft-spoken words, my entire Jazz experience is magnified. Instead of some hyper-annoying statistician awkwardly laughing while jutting in random irrelevant facts, Boone will share an occasional jovial insight, start talking about something else and trail off for 20 seconds (dude loves watching the Jazz so much he starts to forget he's working) then he finishes it off with another valuable insight. I am proud to have Ron Boone as my proxy Jazz fan grandpa.

Booner is fine, even if he messes up a lot he has some good insight, just don't pair him with Steve Brown

Or every bounce pass a skip pass?

Sitting down for tonights Jazz game and really excited for it and noticed that Ron Boone has the commentary with Bolerjack tonight. I just have always loved "Booner's" laid back style, veteran insight and optimistic characterization of the Jazz and NBA players in general. His thoughtful commentary just touches a nerve for me and I think that he deserves praise for his service over the last 27 years. The Hot Rod and Booner days were really something special.

I knew he had a great career but never read about him until just now... he is truly a legend as his nickname states.

"In Terry Pluto's collection of the oral history of the ABA, Loose Balls, interviewees noted that Boone's nickname was "The Legend," because he always showed up each season in shape and always was remarkably consistent. At the time of his retirement, Boone had the distinction of having played the most consecutive games of any player in the history of professional basketball - 1,041 in a row between the ABA and NBA.[2] This record has since been broken by A. C. Green. However, Boone played at least 20 minutes in each game.[3]"

ABA Accolades:

3rd All-Time in Scoring (12,153)
6th All-Time in Assists (2,569)
5th All-Time in Games Played (662)
5th All-Time in Minutes Played (21,586)
2nd All Time in Personal Fouls (2,245)
1st All-Time in Turnovers (2,327)

I love ron boone too... these other *** hats are jerks

Karl Malone loves Ron Boone, or Boone as Karl Malone call him. Karl Malone hears that Boone is on the broadcast and prostrate Karl Malones body in a prayer of thanks. Karl Malone can't stand Matt Harpring. Karl Malone believes Matt Harpring is always just praising the other team. Ugh. Karl Malone watched the Blazers game and Matt Harping was chirping about how great Lillard and McCollum were. Karl Malone can't stand Matt Harpring.

I think Boone is okay... He says dumb stuff sometimes, but I agree that he should never be paired with Brown, but no one should. I like Harpring, but he is kinda starting to get annoying at times. He tries hard at being annoying, and he needs to tone it down a little.
I'm glad I can watch games on TV and I will never have to listen to Locke. In almost every interview I have listened to with him, I heard him freakin sniff up his boogers and swallow his snot! It's incredibly disgusting, I don't know if he does this during his radio broadcasts, but this guy literally makes me want to puke. I can't get past this to hear anything this booger sucker has to say.

When he first came on the job, he used to bug me because of his slow delivery, (not due to age unless he's been having 'senior moments' for the last 27 years) Didn't he take Zelmo Beatty's spot as the color guy? Zelmo wasn't too good at the job if I remember correctly. Anyway, I've grown to like his insight and since I just hit 40, his senior moments are starting to match mine ;) I like him better than Harp but I think Harp has gotten better, toned it down a bit. I agree with the Mailman that he praises the other team too much.
