Additionally my preference of Rondo over Rubio stems from the fact that I believe Exum will be better than either of them this year or within a couple years. Rondo has been touted as a good mentor and I think his age and maturity is more useful than Rubios. Rubio does match up age wise well with the core and maybe could improve with them but I prefer rolling with Exum as our future. I view either as a stop Gap.
Ts% is not a better factor for 3 point shooting nor ability to stretch the floor. Maybe for overall shooting on the court. Rubio sucks at shooting beyond the three point line for his entire career. Maybe that will change going forward but that is a big risk.
Also maybe Rondo goes downhill but outside of two seasons where he wasn't trying he has been one of the best PG defenders for his entire career including this entire season and including the playoffs this year.
The last two years. Especially in Chicago. I posted some quotes about it above. Kids grow up and it looks like Rondo has. Chicago has raved about him all season and his mentorship and positive influence on the younger players. He even stuck up for the younger players when Wade was bashing on them. When has Rondo been a good mentor? When he gave up on two consecutive teams?
No, I used all of his career as an example of good defense except for two seasons when he was frustrated at mailed it in. Rondo was solid on defense all season, in the playoffs and last season as well.Like I said, you want to use a playoff series as proof Rondo can defend again, but using a post LaVine injury for Rubio's shooting, where his usage rate INCREASED, apparently means nothing. It's just faulty logic.
I agree with most of that except that we need to dump Burks. If we don't have room then sure, but Burks contact is not preventing us from re-signing Hill or anyone else right now. Might as well let him play and see if he can improve his worth or at least keep him until he is an expiring contract instead of giving up assets to dump him.I really like Rubio but not for the Jazz. I think his shooting this year was just a hot 6-7 weeks and i don't see that being sustainable. It's a must to dump Burks given who we drafted.
And we just need to bit the bullet and pay George Hill if that secures Gordon. Trim the deadweight like Boris, Burks and then work on the young guys developing over the next 3-4 years.
Can you honestly not read? There is clearly a part that says we would waive Rondo after trading for him.
My Quotes: "Alec Burks? How about a couple of second rate point guards?"
"How many point guards do we need on this team? At least Burks can play two positions and three in a pinch."
Dude do you have a problem with reading comprehension? I proposed unloading point guards as opposed to unloading Burks. Did you even watch the draft or hear about Teodosic? Gotta say I'm not overly impressed with your tirades, what are you like five years old?
Are you even reading the op??? God these idiotsIf we wanted Rondo, no thanks.
If Chicago wants Burks, sure.
But this trade is similar to saying: hey Houston, we have space and a nonguaranteed, will you please let us take Ryan Anderson? C'mon man

His questions were do we want Rondo or the salary dump? I answered both.

No to Rondo. Sure I would trade Burks for a salary dump if Chicago was stupid enough to want that.
Quit your crying kid
