I'm beginning to think a trade is the only way we're going to get that third piece to go along with Mitchell and Gobert. It looks like Harris wants to stay with the Clippers and Middleton will likely stay with the Bucks. I'm not sure we will ever be able to land a big time free agent.

We aren't completely out of hope, but you may be right. DL hinted to it as well. Niko seems most likely to leave his current team.

Here's the deal with Tobias... if they can convince someone to take Gallo (he's balling right now... like straight fire!) then I think they will be within striking distance of two max spots with Tobias' cap hold. If not they will definitely have one spot. In the outside chance they have two of the big FA ready to sign then they may have to waive Tobias' caphold. So we want Kawhi and Jimmy to want to go there together or Kyrie... etc. Outside of that I think they will go to the max with Tobias if needed and LA is LA and it'd be tough to leave if they are still competitive.

I think the clips could get Jimmy or Kawhi... but not both.
 
I think our free agent PF targets this summer will be Mirotic and/or Randle. There is a slight chance that NOLA tries to bring back Boogie - AD has already referred to that. If they don't bring back Boogie, they will bring back either Mirotic or Randle. We might even look at Millsap because Denver will probably decline on his $30 team option.

Tobias seems destined to stay put. Something would have to go terribly wrong for him to leave.

I mean, of course he wants to stay, it's LA and they can offer him the most years and money.

I dont think they can sign a max FA with Harris cap-hold, even if they renounce everyone.
 
I think its Middleton, Niko, Tobias... with Niko being most likely... then I think we look to other positions or trades with incoming salary. Either Otto Porter types or one year salary dumps like Gallo or Marvin Williams. Outside chance that Aaron Gordon becomes available... really don't think we will consider Love but maybe DL gets impatient (I hope not).

Does Niko at the max provide more value than Niang and Crowder at their contract numbers? Are there wings we could spend the money on and get more bang for our buck? PGs?

They can. They are at about 35M if they renounce everyone and if their draft pick conveys to Boston. They could also trade Gallo for less incoming salary or find a home for Harrell or Lou if they want to keep Thornwell, Wallace etc.

Ran it on Capulator... which still has cap at 108 and I think it is going to be 109 now.
