Round 1 Game 2 Utah Jazz at L.A. Clippers 8:30pm MDT

If Jazz are to win ...then Derrick Favors will be the key to victory. It's alot to put on his shoulders after being injured all season and playing over 30 minutes for the first time in a couple of months.BUT Withey can't handle the load of Griffin and Jordan in the paint which Clippers are sure to emphasize on offense in tonights game.A superman effort will be needed in the paint by Favors for the Jazz to steal another game on the Clippers court.

Playing with house money and will be near impossible to be as motivated as they are. But this is a great opportunity to step on their throats. Who knows how many more games Rudy will miss and the Clippers are more than capable of stealing games in SLC. The formula is there, we left plenty of points on the court on Saturday. It's a winnable game.

I want all star dialed in hayward tonight.

My key to the game: Rodney Hood.

Doc is not good at making in-game adjustments (see game 1 as evidence). So the clippers will have spent the last two days game planning for Joe Johnson and Ingles and hill and Hayward. If another player goes off the clippers won't be able to adjust. Furthermore, Hood can get his shot off over every one of the clippers wings, so he needs to hit them.

Hopefully his nerves have calmed down and he just finds a zone.

Great post.
If I'm being non homer then I probably take the clipps by about 10.

But this jazz team is full of surprises and always gets up when knocked down. Tons of fight and heart. Credit much of that to quin and stifle.

My guess is LAC comes out like gang busters tonight. If The Jazz can withstand the initial flurry then that should put LAC on their heels for the rest of the series - even if they manage to win Game 2.

Yeah, LAC needs this game. They lose this and they are done.

Jazz don't need this. But here is where the great teams shine. Beat the Clippers tonight and make this series easy. If the Jazz treat this like every bit as much of a "must win" as the Clippers it puts them ahead of the curve heading into round 2.

I feel like I'd normally pick the Clips considering we've already got the split, but I can't shake the feeling that LA already feels like their backs are against the wall and are gonna come out super tight while the Jazz come out relaxed (in a good way). I honestly feel like we leave LA up 2-0 and Friday night in Vivint is the last stand of the LA Clippers.

I want to believe.

One of the bigger issues is that The Clippers are in reaction mode rather than aggression mode. They have had 3 days in order to plan for what the Jazz are going to do. The lineup the Jazz gave them is new for them, while we can still use the same Clippers scouting report. They aren't going to throw a new wrinkle offensively, which, for a well coached team, like the 90's Jazz would be a good thing for them. I'm not sure the Clippers are a well coached team. They get chippy and frustrated when things don't go their way. Chris Paul has never shown he can remove himself from the script and dominate in the Playoffs, as good as he has been.

The Clippers will come out fired up, but will wilt if they face much adversity. All the Jazz need to do is hit open shots, which will be available with our misdirection and an amped up Clippers squad.

I see no reason why Joe Johnson doesn't continue to have a good series. How do the Clips defend him?
