What's new

Rudy Curry

If Rudy gets a reliable shot, it would be a thing. Quin leverages his players skills.
I think he leverages what they are best at. Even if Rudy were to get a reliable shot he would still be much better at running to rim for lobs and easy dunks and I think quin would continue to use Rudy to do what he is best at.

Surprised this is getting this much attention... summer doldrums
Don't really want to see him take one during a competitive game, would rather see him practicing free throws and get above 80% or even above 70% this year! You know he'll be using that shot a ton this year... And yes, that's the one shot that's pretty consistent, in an empty gym or during the game.

During the draft that Rudy was in there was video of him hitting 3s too. Actually, it seems like every offseason we see a video of Gobert knocking down 3s.

Honestly, it would be great if his release was faster (although not many people would block that shot), but I think Rudy would be more valuable to the Jazz rolling to the hoop and making the defense choose to either double him in the paint and leave a wide open shooter or let him roll for a easy dunk.

That’s exactly why it’s getting attention.

Come on October!!! :)

Kosta Koufos actually had a pretty good shot. Hit a respectable 34.9% from 3 on 1.7 attempts per game his frosh year.

He never shoots them in the pros.

I remember going to the scrimmage his rookie year. Koufus came out and hit a three pointer for the first shot of the game. The guy behind me said, “He’ll never shoot that in a game.”

Hitting a shot in a game is very different from in practice.

Mark Gasol developed a three point shot. Rudy could do it too, but I prefer to see him dunk.

Rudy works like a madman and adds something new.

Jazzfanz "Rudy you're doing it all wrong."

I’m cool with him working on it... you can only lift sprint dunk so much in a day. I love shooting it’s relaxing as hell for me... always has been.

I’m more on board with he doesn’t need to shoot the three and likely isn’t really good at it. I think almost every nba player can hit 50-60% of their threes in an open gym setting... this just isn’t something I’d get excited about... that’s all.

I’m sure he is working on that but so much this... if he became a 75% ft shooter that is a bigger improvement than becoming a 30-35% 3 point shooter.

He shot like 40% from the free throw line last year... so that percentage was fluky or he is broken... I do remember when we picked him thinking he’d be a shooter... nope.

If he can be Rudy Barry and hit 90% on underhanded free throws, I'd be willing to contribute a lot of money for that.
