I love the thought of AD roughing out the all star game then the pelicans sitting him cuz he’s hurt.


Rudy should tell them to shove it if invited, but I’d understand if he didn’t. AS games played is a marker on the legacy. Maybe play and give intense defensive effort to ruin the game... give some hard fouls... that could be fun.

I remember Ron Artest saying he was going to dominate the game with defense and said “I’m gonna be foulin’, I’m gonna be flagrant foulin’!”

I think it is very important to our franchise that Gobert (or Mitchell for that matter) goes to the All Star game if they are invited.

In trying to build this roster, the more selling points the better. We keep listing max level players to target, but they are worried about their legacy too. If Jazz players find it harder to get recognition, that's one more strike against us. If the offer becomes available, somebody needs to take it.
 
It's more in the accolade than actually doing anything at the game. Let's face it, defense is non-existent in the ASG. Gobert would get garbage minutes, pull in some boards, maybe a lob if he's lucky and that's it. No blocks because nine chuckers will be on the court tossing 30 foot shots.

If the NBA is going to just draft teams to the most popular players anyway, bring the best 30 league-wide. There's not a GM in the league right now who wouldn't take a Nikola Vucevic/Rudy Gobert swap in two shakes of a lamb's dick.

Guys like Rudy can do quite well just grabbing offensive boards and dunking... finishing lobs. I'll bet he'd put up double digit pts and rebounds in very few minutes.

I agree should be 24 best players, but I think it falls under league rules that would need a 2/3 vote... no eastern conference teams will vote for that... just like the playoff stuff. Dumb AF.

Plus doesn't Rudy get like a million dollars or something if he is an all star? Technicality or not, a million bucks is a million bucks

He doesn't get it if he's an injury replacement sadly. Not sure we could amend his contract incentives, but as it is written I heard injury replacement doesn't count.
