Rudy Gobert Finishes December Historically Well

Rudy is our superstar talent. We build around him from here on out.

He is a beast mate. Only Jazz player who changes games EVERY game besides maybe Hill. Gobert has showed up to every game. Hayward has disappeared plenty but is reasonably reliable an takes pressure off.

Remember last year when Gobert twisted a ankle an demanded to be put back in? It was so ugly an Snyder lost us that game cause of it but it showed how bad *** Rudy is an will forever be. #1jazzman

imagine KP and Rudy at the 4 and 5 spots. Rim protection would be insane and on the other end you have Kristaps ability to stretch the floor.

Yeah. Too bad the Jazz didn't have the foresight try to convince him to stay in the 2014 draft. That combo would have been damn fun to see together.

No I don't remember people wanting to trade him. Do you remember who wanted to trade him?

There were some fans who were convinced that the league had "figured him out" and that we should trade him while his value was high. Oh yeah, and that with the small ball trend, players like Rudy weren't worth much anymore. Some people were claiming he hurt our offense more than he helped the defense.

Here's some examples:

We are in the same situation as with Kanter - some is going to drop max on him and we will have match. People not going to like it here but Rudy is nearly as much as liability as Kanter used to be but on the other end.
I also think he was highly over rated by Jazz fans. And he's unlikely to ever repeat his performance from late last year because teams now know how to account for him (Hopefully getting Exum back helps though). Frankly I think Lyles may end up taking a lot of his minutes in the coming years. I prefer the Lyles/Favors lineup right now over the Favors/Gobert one. They fit better together and they both help space the floor making room for each other and the wings, Rudy doesn't and I'm not sure his defense makes up for it any longer.
The real question is, what would we all be willing to give up in return for Wall?

Exum, Favors/Gobert, GS pick.

That's allot. I might do it though. Damn, that's a tough one

So would you trade Gobert for Irving?

i do that trade 10 times out of 10
Gobert for Irving would be a dream come true. Then offer Whiteside the max. He's more impactful on both ends of the court.
