We need a low post scoring center. Al Jefferson is available I think. Championship, here we come!!

How many bigs had dominant jump hooks? Shaq, Duncan, Yao, maybe 20 others in 40 years.

It’s 2019 not 1991, the post game isn't used anymore.

We should do an off-season awards thread (just for kicks). This might be the winning comment.

We'd all love it if Rudy had Kareem's skyhook, but he doesn't. I trust the Jazz coaching staff and think they are doing what is best for Rudy.

I have saw Rudy show more than zero ability to throw a jump hook.
In fact I have actually seen him make quite a few hook shots over the years. He is best at them with his left hand.

I probably just watch a lot more jazz basketball than you do though.

That one would probably get my vote. Best post I have seen in a long time

It's hilarious to me how people think being built like Rudy gives him an advantage in the post.

So you think being tall, strong, and quick gives you a disadvantage in the post? Ok.

There's a reason Kareem had a hook shot...

The NCAA banned dunking basically because he was too good at it. So he couldn't dunk.

If that hadn't happened Kareem never would have worked on such an inefficient shot.

Yes, a high center of gravity is a massive disadvantage in the post.

Except that his frame is quite slight and his center of gravity is absurdly high (the physics of that make him fundamentally weak in his base and not especially quick-footed either).

    Thank you

I mean he moves incredibly for a guy that size and yet someone’s bitching that he isn’t a low centre of gravity heavy banger in the low post .... ffs

You know it really says a lot about the state of society when people can just casually witness a cold-blooded murder and do or feel nothing. Can we at least get some thoughts and prayers up in here?

This needs to make its way into the “Post of the Year” thread. It has to be right up there. Perfect storm of a post.

Kinda hard to have a post game when the PF hangs out in the post too. We'll see more post points from Rudy this season... I guarantee it.

Who needs a low post game. Where is his three ball game? Locke, Larson, and I say if you don't just sit outside and shoot threes you aren't playing next level basketball fellas. Come on a 3 is worth more than a 2.

It was hard to watch Chris Paul stop Rudy in the post. I didn’t understand it, but then I heard Britton Johnson explain how little guys get into the legs of big guys. Rudy’s center of gravity is just too high.

As a 6'2" dude, that is ALWAYS how I defended big dudes. And I have an unmeasurable fraction of the skills and knowledge of an NBA player. If they can easily shoot over you, you are better off making them think about their knees and balance, then stretching out to contest. It's kind of dirty, but it is effective and will almost never get called.
