Rumor: Utah Jazz Could Help Cavs Create Trade Exception

Why the Hell would we want anything to do with Brendan Haywood? How does that help the Jazz? Don't need any of their draft picks either. . .

I would hope this is a three way trade that nets us something better than a late pick and Haywood that we would just have to buy out. But I guess if that is all the trade is, then its worth it to get a late first for our extra cap space this year.

I would hope they would wait until the trade deadline to do this type of trade in case something better comes along.

Haywood is completely unguaranteed. Lindsey will do this to acquire a second round pick, and help clear out the roster a little bit.

Jazz would have to trade or cut players to do the deal. Not sure the gain of a 2nd rounder is worth getting rid of Cooley, Motum, etc. Portland and Philly can do deal with Cavs without waiving or trading anyone, especially since Cavs want the trade exception not any players.

You don't do it for the 2nd rounder.
You do for the loss of trey burke.

We've already got two Treys and two Burkes while nearly having two Bookers. There'd be a decent but of confusion as half the league thinks our max guy's name is Haywood.

Jazz aren't dumping Burke for a 2nd rounder.

They were entertaining Burke trades at the draft, supposedly. I'm sure they got some offers to dump him for a 2nd round pick.

They would cut his non guaranteed contract. They would likely be trading a couple of our non guarantee contracts to get him, and a pick or two. They would not really have anything to do with him.
