Say goodbye to Love

I think this is a terrible move for Cleveland and a HUGE overreaction to losing Kyrie and LeBron for peanuts in consecutive years.

They should’ve been looking to trade him for a young player and expiring contracts. They need to embrace a full rebuild. I can’t see any way that this contract isn’t terrible 3 years from now.

I was never really interested in Love. He doesn't fit the timeline of our core and he can't stay healthy.

Why isn’t Cleveland embracing the rebuild? Weird move. I thought they’d go full tank and go the philly route. A few years of lottery, a nice trade here and there, and a lucky signing would have them back to being competitive. Not sure how this deal makes any sense. It doesn’t help them to rebuild.

The crazy thing is that they could easily clear $60+ million in cap space next year for two max contract slots - but they just gave one of them away. Nuts.

This seems like a really bad move now and it will look worse very soon... strange move.

I don't think it is a bad move at all.

1) it's Cleveland. They sports usually bottom feeders. BUCK THAT TREND

2) It's the leastern conference. Can KL carry you to the playoffs in the East without LBJ. YEP

3) Why force a rebuild early so that you can hurry in the decade of the Cavs being horrible? Try to keep as many fans interested as possible. Try to remain somewhat relevant. Try to hold onto a winning culture. Don't throw the franchise's newfound self respect down the toilet so easily.

4)There's going to be plenty of time to rebuild for Cleveland. They are going to get plenty of lottery picks. Prepare for that. Don't do it on the fly the year after making the finals with bad contracts still on the books. Rebuild post KL when you have had 4 years to prepare.
