Sean Williams Headed overseas

Can someone tell me when a player like Sean Williams has panned out? For all of his personal issues, he's not that good of a player than a chance should be taken. So often, people say/write "if he can put those problems behind him", but those players never/if ever put those problems behind them. The Jazz did not make a mistake on this. No team made a mistake by not bringing this bundle of problems to their team. Fes is a goofball. Williams is trouble. No thanks.

I'd say Birdman worked out. Granted, he had to leave the game for a couple of years to sort his **** out. But he came back humble and hungry (or he just just didn't like all those other jobs paying millions of dollars a year.) Williams has never had even the limited success Birdman had in his early years so admittedly it's not the best example. I don't personally care the Jazz didn't sign him, but the Jazz are one of the few teams that wouldn't have to worry about his character issues. He either gets with the program or he's shown the door.

I'd say this is a fair point, but Birdman had something of a forcible wake-up call that other players who have been headcases have never dealt with. It's one thing to be suspended for two full years all in one go and quite another to have the slow decline over several seasons where everyone loses confidence in you that Sean Williams had.

It is just amazing when you have a guy nobody else wants you have people complaining that we dont pick him up! He may have a long wingspan but he also gets pushed around underneath. Fes might not block as many shots but he is also going to stop more people defensively than Williams. There is more to playing defense than just blocking shots. If you look at Boozer's rebound numbers alone you might think he is a great defender.

Nobody wanted Matthews last year either. You Fail.

Ummmm, big difference is Matthews was a rookie and never played in the NBA. Williams has had a few seasons already. You fail X2.

You are fails bitch. There is no difference. And just an FYI Sean Williams had a great Rookie year knucklehead.

You are a real smart guy. His 5 points a game and 4 rebounds were awesome! His two points a game last two years are amazing. KOC is a real idiot for not picking him up.

Talk about smart. Pretty easy when in true knuclehead fashion you leave out the stats we are speaking of to make your point. Let me help you. He also had 1.6 blocks and shot 54% from the field.

Yeah, it's not the greatest comparison. And he doesn't play the game with the same reckless abandon that Birdman does which is probably another strike against him as a project. Maybe playing in China will help to turn him around. But few guys not in the league have his upside. I like it as a one year gamble.

Again as mentioned before blocking a few shots does not make one a good overall defender. 29 other GMs must be real idiots as well.

Find me one scouting report that backs up your claim. You wont find one. He is known as a fine defender. Quit making ish up, aight? And yes they are idiots.
