Can someone tell me when a player like Sean Williams has panned out? For all of his personal issues, he's not that good of a player than a chance should be taken. So often, people say/write "if he can put those problems behind him", but those players never/if ever put those problems behind them. The Jazz did not make a mistake on this. No team made a mistake by not bringing this bundle of problems to their team. Fes is a goofball. Williams is trouble. No thanks.
I'd say Birdman worked out. Granted, he had to leave the game for a couple of years to sort his **** out. But he came back humble and hungry (or he just just didn't like all those other jobs paying millions of dollars a year.) Williams has never had even the limited success Birdman had in his early years so admittedly it's not the best example. I don't personally care the Jazz didn't sign him, but the Jazz are one of the few teams that wouldn't have to worry about his character issues. He either gets with the program or he's shown the door.
