What's new

Seattle Kings

Here is a chilling thought:

The Maloofs couldn't afford to run an NBA franchise for YEARS. Cash-poor owners + small market = trouble.

Have any of you bought a LHM Toyota lately?

I'd rather see:

Pacific-
Lakers
Clippers
Kings/Sonics
Blazers
Warriors

Northwest- (obviously need a new designation)
Jazz
Suns
Nuggets
Timberwolves
Grizzlies

Southwest- (Texas)
Hornets/Pelicans
OKC
Rockets
Mavericks
Spurs

Marvin Williams is from Seattle--Would the Sonic Kings want to trade for him now?

David Locke started calling games in Seattle--would the....no they wouldn't.

I do like it but I don't think it could happen unless (or until) Senator Kohl sells his team like it was rumoured earlier this week.

Casino owners having cash flow problems? That's always strange. I know they are probably involved in about a million other things too, which I'm now curious enough that I'm going to go look up. Remember when they were sort of thought of as being in the same league as a Mark Cuban type "hip" owner but a family of them though? Man, that faded fast. They have basically been non-players outside of all the rumored franchise moves.

Weezur, you're on top of things. I just barely saw Adrian Wojnarowski's tweet about this now. I hadn't heard anything previously.

Pshhhh who do you think Adrian got his info from?
That's right.....Jazzfanz.

Coincidentally enough, Adrian's not high on Al Jefferson and Foye.

This is a pretty good one but calling a division with Utah, Denver, Milwuakee, Minnesota and Oklahoma the "Northwest Divsion" is kind of silly. Perhaps the "Midwest Division".

If I were the NBA, I would scrap the 6 division format (which nobody follows anyway) and go back to the 4 division format (Pacific, Midwest, Central, Atlantic). I could care less if the Jazz win the Northwest Division. All I care about is if they make the playoffs. The Top 2 teams from each division make it automatically to the playoffs, while the final 4 playoff berths in each conference go to the 4 best overall records in each conference. Here is my alignment:

Western Conference

Pacific Division (8 teams, who all come from the Mountain and Pacific Time Zones (Pac-12 Country))
Denver Nuggets
Golden State Warriors
Los Angeles Clippers
Los Angeles Lakers
Phoenix Suns
Portland Trailblazers
Seattle Supersonics
Utah Jazz

Midwest Division (7 current Central Time Zone Western Conference Teams)
Dallas Mavericks
Houston Rockets
Memphis Grizzlies
Minnesota Timberwolves
New Orleans Pelicans
Oklahoma City Thunder
San Antonio Spurs

Eastern Conference

Central Division
Charlotte Hornets
Chicago Bulls
Cleveland Cavaliers
Detroit Pistons
Indiana Pacers
Milwaukee Bucks
Toronto Raptors

Atlantic Division
Atlanta Hawks
Boston Celtics
Brooklyn Nets
Miami Heat
New York Knicks
Orlando Magic
Philadelphia 76ers
Washington Wizards

Wiki them. I thought the same thing so I wiki'ed them a year or so ago. They pretty much inherited a ton and have always ****ed up/lost a ton of what they've had. Terrible businessmen from what I recall.
