Self Defense

At a third the cost, I'm still spending about $7,000 on something I'll almost definitely never use. If a situation did arise, that doesn't mean, I'd react like I'd hope I would and wouldn't get more ****ed up than had I just avoided engagement all together.

If you tried to karate someone you would probably just get shot.

Yes, if the intruder had a weapon. I'd hazard a guess though that a small number (20%?) of burglars are packing. They're thieves, not violent criminals. The majority of the time anyway I would think.

Possibly, I'd rather not risk it though. I mean getting shot would suck, it would suck a lot worse than getting robbed.

It is expensive. For economical reasons some Kenpo, Jui Jitsu or Tae Kwan Do would be better.

Don't need any of this. Learn to tackle and tie up long enough for your partner to grab the gun, then hope Lady has the balls to pulls the trigger. My teeth will hang on like a pit bull for the 20 seconds necessary.

Details? I want to learn. PM me maybe, or better, put a chapter on this in your Longest Thread Ever, please and thank you. My broker just cost me a big chunk this week, I want to find out if others have similar experiences.

My mother had savings invested through a broker. Every penny was lost through either bad trades or fees.

holy crap thats hella expensive.
before i became an instructor i paid 32.50 euros for twice a week 75 minutes.
or you could pay 40 and come up to 4 times a week.
and imho my instructor i consider the best in the netherlends(might be a homer).

I wrestled for 16 years and started college on scholarship. 8 straight state titles and twice placed 2nd at grand nationals.. I've never ran into anyone using any form of martial arts that remotely understood how to stop a fight like I could. I got in plenty of fights when I was younger .. most because some knucklehead that was bigger than me wanted to prove he was a tough guy.

In about 15 fights I've only ever been hit twice, both sucker punches.. I could end it very quickly.. like under 15 seconds.. and never had to hurt anyone, except an incredibly bruised ego. I never once considered myself to be any sort of tough guy .. I just knew I could end any stupid silliness that was started without much effort or mess.
