Self Defense

I wrestled for 16 years and started college on scholarship. 8 straight state titles and twice placed 2nd at grand nationals.. I've never ran into anyone using any form of martial arts that remotely understood how to stop a fight like I could. I got in plenty of fights when I was younger .. most because some knucklehead that was bigger than me wanted to prove he was a tough guy.

In about 15 fights I've only ever been hit twice, both sucker punches.. I could end it very quickly.. like under 15 seconds.. and never had to hurt anyone, except an incredibly bruised ego. I never once considered myself to be any sort of tough guy .. I just knew I could end any stupid silliness that was started without much effort or mess.

Come at me bro!

I didnt know this thread was cool.

I'm here now.

I have not been in a fight since 6th grade, which is a minor miracle because I am somewhat of a **** talker.

I got punched once, by the weirdest kid in my grade school, the thing was he was probably 150 pounds and pretty solid as a 6th grader, I threw a football at his back so I could recover it like an onside kick and he walked over and punched me in the face and walked off, it didnt really hurt I was more confused/shocked that it had happened. Thats it though, now no one ****s with me because Im crazy

Part of the problem is there are soooo many people who claim to be good at martial arts when they actually suck.

Yup. Stereotypes work well for weeding out the MA posers though in America if you get into a shouting match beforehand. If they are Asian and speak broken English, they are probably serious and might be able to do some damage due to their fighting background. Anybody else, and you're probably good 99% of the time testing their claim out. The guys that get a Groupon for a 5 lesson Karate Kid experience or something and then think they can fight are always going to get worked. They were better off when they knew they couldn't fight.

Truth.

I lifted a lot out of highschool. I'm a small dude but at this point I could bench twice my weight, etc. One day, all pumped up heading from the gym to work, this old bully from highschool cut me off and got pissed at how close I got to his bumper, so he followed me to work to pick a fight. I was out of my car and just starting to change my shirt into work stinks when he pulled up and started to get out while cussing at me. I finished taking off my shirt, turned and said "what?". He couldn't get in his car and get out of there quick enough. Dude had at least five inches on me and well over thirty pounds, and would have easily kicked my *** if he could get it done before wearing out (since I would not have). But that's the way most these tough guys are.

Then again, I also know genuine amateur MMA badasses. They never want to fight on the street, and have a couple tricks to scare off the wannabes to avoid busting a few hand bones on them. If they're gonna hit you then they're gonna do it before you know what happened.

How much did those ear replacements cost?

We only have 4 state champs here. Did Tuck go that early? (serious question)
