Nobody knows, but they keep saying they know. My mom told me that she was convinced from a young age that the world was on the verge of the apocalypse. It's a tool that religion uses and will continue to use.

I'm old enough to remember when not shaking hands was impolite and healthy enough that I'm still skiing several times a week even though no lifts are running.
