Shaq in Utah?

How much would Shaq take? I'd give him the bi-annual exception or the rest of the MLE. Do QO (Fess) count against the MLE, or would it be a minimum offer?

The big SHADOW... as in a shadow of his former self.... Although, he could still show Fes a few tricks offensively... If he was cheap (which he's NEVER been), it would be tempting...

the jazz have fes' bird rights, so the QO doesn't require an exception. technically, they can pay him up to 25% of the salary cap without surrendering any of their exceptions.

even as "a shadow of his former self", he is still pretty dammed good. PER-wise, he finished 54th in the league last season, right between Noah and Camby. if anything, your nickname is indicative of just how devastatingly unstoppable the guy was in his prime. anyway, the real issue with Shaq is how much of a decline there will be in his play next season and beyond.

if he would be willing to take AJ's leftover minutes (like he did with Z in Cleveland), seems to me he would be worth the MLE (if we still had it).

Shaq today is still better than Fes today.

Other things that are also better than Fes today:

Shaq could be quite good comming off the bench and he is still a solid man in the paint. He and Fes could spend time together working on freethrows, and interviews. Shaq would probably be on Fes' case if Fes didn't really work hard on the court too.
Oh, big beakthrough with my thoughts! Two players on the team that have had a beef with Kobe, Bell and Shaq! Could make for some great games with the Lakers during the season.Just imagine Shaq and Bell literally slapping the **** out of Kobe.
