Shaq in Utah?

Right but which one still has some upside. I think that no team wants to pay him more than 2 million also says something.

Fesenko's "he has upside" grace period is over. I just don't get why some people that post here are so high on a guy who has played for us for three years yet has not shown any consistent, innate talent.

"Yeah well if only Sloan would play him..." Please. Sloan probably doesn't play him because of two simple reasons: (1) Fes practices like crap and *gasp* (2) just plain sucks on top of that. I don't know what would convince the Fes-lovers otherwise. Perhaps Sloan should let him start a game and play a full 40 minutes? Why would you want to see that? So a 50-year old Shaq can light him up for 35/15? Would that prove to you guys that Fes isn't worth it? Oh, sorry, I forgot about the Fesenko apologists, "Yeah, well that was only one game. If you look more closely at the stats, his +/- was..."

I think it's time to move on. Shaq might not be worth $2 million (he!!, he might not be worth 200K) but then certainly Fes isn't worth it either.

I assume you know more than Sloan and O'Connor about his potential. Clearly they picked up his option and want to bring him back, but obviously you know more about him than they do! As far as his defense he is clearly better than anyone else we have down low. Have you seen him play against guys like Lopez, Ming, and Bynum. He absolutely played them pretty well.

No, I don't know more than they do, nor would I want to make such a bizarre claim. It's just odd (to me, at least) that so much digital ink has been spilled on a guy who has yet to really, conclusively, and most importantly, consistently prove himself. Picking up his option isn't a sign of anything regarding his talent other than the mere fact that we are currently relatively gutted at the center position and we need someone with a pulse.

Look, I'm not denying that he is large, physically imposing, and can have occasional bursts of clarity on offense or defense. I just don't understand the love affair I suppose. Remarking about his defense: it is somewhat telling that he can surely block shots, but that comes at the expense of his foul-prone playing style. One would hope he could have learned to curtail those tendencies (to foul other players) in the 3+ years of tutelage he's received from Utah's coaching staff.

Welcome to the world of the internet message board. Where our President is a Kenyan Muslim, the second-string QB is the most popular guy on the team, ESPN's trade machine is a college level course, and Fesenko actually belongs in the NBA.

has anyone really seen shaq play lately? hes def not worth 5.8 mil. He'll be more of a distraction than a contributer
