Should The Jazz Clean Up on The Kings?

I presume they want a highly protected 1st rd pick in 2018 or 2019 for McLemore.. He's the odd man out with Hield and Richardson in the fold.

Nah, he isn't bad, but the Jazz don't need anymore wings.

What if we flipped Burks for Temple and some additional assets... I really like Temple... can defend one through three and makes enough shots. Reasonably paid... by all accounts a good dude.

If the Kings are really trying to trade McLemore and all these other relatively young players, it makes me think they are going full tank. I doubt they would want someone like Burks at this point in their rebuild.

Be more of a three teamer... expirings to sac... with the third team sending some draft compensation our way.

Something like AB to orlando, Cap fodder to sac plus our #53 2017 pick, and Orlando send us #33, #34 for 2017. I think Temple is not as good as AB but he's a tough defender and can fill-in better.

Probably could just keep AB and add Temple. Exum would be the odd man out of rotation... figure everything else out salary wise in the off season.

I propose Temple for #53... assuming we can't get an extension done with Hill with our capspace.

He can play three positions, good physical defender, and some sacramento insider info... he's a great teammate. Good bench, culture guy... been to a lot of games and just seems so involved in talking up teammates even though he's been out with some injuries.

Deal would give us some Hill insurance. If we get extension done, then we can move Burks in the off season.

They are supposedly going to waive Langston Galloway. He is only 25 and has a 9 point average scoring in a couple of season.

I'd just rather use Burks to get a stretch 4. I dont want to use him to get another combo guard, especially one that isn't clearly better than Burks.

Worst ****ing franchise in the NBA. Surely they would have accepted Favors + a couple of picks? Oh well.

Toliver would be nice. Diaw + second.

No, they really liked Buddy and they wanted someone on their rookie deal and a lotto pick.

Do they really like Lyles? We should have tried. Those guys are idiots.

Our culture and chemistry are too good to ruin it with him. Just not a fit.

Final attempt at something here:

We trade AB, Mack for Temple and Robert Covington

Philly trades Roco get AB

Sac trades Temple get Mack... salary dump.

Roco is a good defender... shot is coming around and is dirt cheap this year and next. I'd be trying to play him at PF as much as possible.

If Dante keeps up his good play he can keep playing... if not we have better options after this deal. Lyles and Diaw get no PT... and I'm 100% okay with that.

Uhh, why on earth does Philly want Burks over Covington?

Ya, you're right. Culture and chemistry are more important than a top talent who averages 30/10/5.

Who has never helped his team win 30 or more games in a season...

Not sure they do, but they are under the floor and have some stretchy combo forwards already... definitely have a hole at 2 guard. I'd consider Illyasova and the rights to Korkmaz too, but I think they love Illyasova. AB is under contract for an extra year... Maybe they feel there is some more upside there. Covington's super cheap deal does not have as much value there as it would in another scenario because they can't find good players to take their cap space. Again, not sure they'd do it, but I don't view it as super lopsided... value is close imo.

They should be trying to lose a few extra games this year, but I'm not sure Colangelo is up for that.

The Kings are awful. They lost Isiah Thomas for nothing also. Two top NBA players lost for next to nothing in the last 3 years. The Kings had a really good stretch under coach Malone, and Cousins looked to be maturing and flourishing. But then the Kings remembered they were the Kings.

Adding Cousins would have made us an instant contender. He would have been well worth the risk. I'm personally okay with not winning a championship, and this team aint winning a championship without another major acquisition. And we won't make an acquisition as big as Cousins.

But this whole conversation is moot. We didn't get him. NOLA did. Good for them. We'll see how it plays out.
