Should the Jazz persue DeRozan?

Exum is the point guard that likes to pass.

Honestly i dont think derozen would come to utah and I see him signing in la anyway.

Snyder is a good coach he has shown the ability to develop young talent. He has the team poised to make the playoffs next year and beyond. He would have been in the playiffs this year if it wasnt for injuries.

Hayward would completely flourish with derozan getting double teamed. As would favors and gobert.

As for burks i want to see what he can offer this team healthy. Healthy being the key word. Hood is hood and still will be.

I wouldnt be surprised to see hayward getting some minutes at the 4 in a small ball line up.

I had an entertaining thought. Lets say the jazz pull an ainge and make a couple huge moves.

They sign derozen
Trade for cousins (favors and draft picks)

Exum, mack, neto
Derozen, burks
Hayward, hood, ingles
Cousins, lyles
Gobert, withey, maker

That would be a hell of a team. Super fun to watch. Not sure how excited I would be with that team.

Have you watched this guy in the playoffs? I don't consider him a star. I think he is very good but I don't think he is a number one guy. So no I would not MAX him out.

Not really a fan of this. I'd prefer a shooter. I also think he is a little bit redundant to Burks.

He definitely is a #1 guy. To be a #1 guy you have to be able to take a large volume of shots and be able score at an efficient rate. DeRozan can do all those things. Even though he has played horribly in the playoffs, he still at least gets points with the way he can get to the FT line. His playoff performance is way too small of a sample size to really pass up on him as a player if he is willing to sign.

His %s suck in the playoffs, but he's still averaging 19/5/3 for a team up 2-1 in the 2nd round. It's in the East, but still.

Would I rather have a shooter? Yes. But if he were willing to sign here, I think I'd have a hard time passing that up. A 3 wing lineup of Hayward, DeRozan, and Hood would be sick.

To those saying he's redundant to Burks: it's hard to be redundant to a player who never plays. At this point, Casper would be more redundant to Burks than DeRozan. I like Burks, but his best case scenario is DeRozan basically, and I don't see him reaching that potential anymore.
