Should the Jazz persue DeRozan?

The Raptors are Lowry team. That's why DD isn't the "star" but he is close and has all the tools.
West Coast kid I think he ready to come closer to home.. Some team in the Western Confrence. Raptors getting Norman Powell was a steal last year. I kept saying abnout mid year of his senior season that this guy going be a good pro..

If you want to get over the hump and maybe not only get to playoffs but win a series, then you need to make moves. He can be a number 1 threat on a team no doubt. Has the size,athletic ability to be a real force. In todays NBA he can play multiple positions. You guys want to win a CHIP? Got to go thru GSW for awhile and they have the "Death" lineup you have to match. Could see Favors on the floor with 4 guards in Exum, Hayward, Hood, DD..Thats a nice lineup to counter when GSW goes to the "Death" lineup
 
He would make Hayward more likely to stay, and also act as insurance for the scenario in which Hayward decides to leave.
 
Can't see how things would work out with Favors and Gobert down low. He needs some spacing.

Exum, Gobert, and favors all can't shoot. Then we add derozan who can't shoot the three.

Pack the paint would be in full affect.
 
But favors lyles hood derozan and neto would make teams pay. Or gobert hayward hood derozan exum would be devastating.
 
I like Derozan as a player, but not as a fit for this team. A starting lineup with Exum, Favors, & Gobert needs the last 2 guys to be good shooters, which Derozan isn't. If he was willing to sign here, you probably have to do it tho as you can always mix & match lineups.

He's 26 years old, tied for 8th in PPG this season, & his signing would send the message to Hayward (& the entire team/other FA's) that were trying to win now. We have money to spend & I'm not sure that we'll attract a better player thru FA at this point in time. That being said, I don't expect him to sign here.
 
Some of you must not watch ball very often. they way of 2 big guys that have to be down low because they have no range-----Going out the door.. Watch how the game is played now...Id like to DD with Utah in the small ball lineup with Favors at center.. As a bball fan first and foremost this lineup would be exciting to watch vs GSW

Have any of you thought that maybe it is Gobert and Favors can not play together with the way ball is anymore? Neither can shoot outside. Trey Lyles as I recall has some potential to be a player that can stretch the D with a jumper.... Favors and Gobert just might not be the answer for the Jazz. Actually the more I think about it, I think that might be the number 1 problem for the Jazz.imo

If Derozan agrees to play considerably smarter and less selfish than what he's doing in the playoffs, sure why not.

Yeah, and I think they can coexist (and be the foundation for the best defense in the league) if we have the right shooters around them; so I understand the hesitancy to sign a non-shooter like Derozan, but we flat out need more talent. Even DL admits he overvalued chemistry.
