Should the NBA abolish the 3 point line?

Do the people who hate the 3 so much love players like Demar Derozan? I feel like if the three was the issue, then a guy like DDR should be one of the most popular players in the NBA.

Was Trey Burke yalls favorite player when we he played here? He loved taking mid-range jumpers out of the PNR.

That's like me asking you if your favourite player 2 decades ago was Antoine Walker because you like the three-point line. You can't take bad(Burke) to middling(DeMar) players and use them as your example.

There is a HUGE difference between ****** shot selection and the general flow of the game from a design perspective. Of course no one loves players taking the bad shot and right now, the way the game is designed essentially, is to have them jack up tons of 3s. That is what is most efficient and some people find that boring. I would like to see a game re-design so that other modes of scoring, including mid-range, or big-man rumble to the basket, etc. can be used nearly as efficiently, or at least be viewed as a viable option. But the game is currently designed to generate a ton of 3s and, if that option is taken away somehow, drives to the rim to try to open up more 3s or at least get a layup. And that is about it. I for one would like to see a minor design adjustments to nerf the 3 point shot somewhat to encourage other game plans besides dribble-pass-shoot a 3- rinse and repeat.

Frankly right now the most entertaining team to watch is Denver. They have so much off-ball movement and Jokich is such a masterful player, they are just fun to watch. Consequently they are in the bottom third of the league for the 3 point shot, and they are winning well below their potential. because the game is currently designed to reward those who jack up the most 3s. Period. I would love to see that changed somehow.

NBA fans: WE WANT LESS EFFICIENT BASKETBALL WITH LOTS OF BAD SHOTS, CLOGGED UP PAINTS AND CHAOTIC POST PLAY!

College basketball: exists
No we want to see the best athletes in the world actually challenged on the court, not just performing shooting drills. Are you saying you just love games where they shoot 60 3 pointers between both teams? So better would be 100 shot between both teams. You would much rather see LeBron jack up 3s repeatedly instead of weaving in and out of traffic creating and making stuff happen? What a boring game that would be. Yikes.

So I miss the elegance and footwork of great low post play and hate the way that analytics has removed the midrange and post game from the sport. I like the idea of pushing the 3 point line back significantly, there should always be a place in the game for a dagger but it should be harder. Discuss
One way to combat the overuse of the 3-point shot is to change the scoring. Make baskets worth 3 points and have a 4-pointer. That way the analytics will move back to scoring closer to the basket. Right now it is better to shoot more 3s because of the numbers.

That too has already been suggested and discussed ages ago and will never happen. Changing basketball scoring in such a fundamental way just because a bunch of bored NBA fans have decided they want more drop steps would be bizarre.

I never said I wanted to do this it is a solution to the OPs suggestion. I am purest.
