Should the NBA abolish the 3 point line?

Playing on the perimeter is so much easier because the defenders can hardly breathe on offensive player and the ball handlers also get to carry the ball.

IMO, they’ve actually allowed the more contact on postups over the years as small ball has become more popular. If it’s a smaller guy defending a bigger player in the post, the small guy can beat the hell out of the bigger player and use all his strength to create contact. If it’s the other way around on the perimeter you’ve got a taller player trying to stick with a smaller guy who can carry the ball and gets a whistle if there’s a slight touch.

No you would see coaches manage the 3 ball the way they do time outs. But I think that would be way too hard to implement and manage, honestly. Plus it is just hokey. There are way better options than a 3 pt shot limit.
 
I got it!

Add a an arc at the 12 foot mark. And push the 3 point line out to 30 feet. So anything inside 12 feet is worth 2, between 12 and 30 worth 3 (including corner shots), and anything past 30 is worth 4! You would regularly see scores in the 150s to 160s!

Yep. This. Most 18 footers would be the result of play action or a broken play or just an open player. Not the absolute focal point of all offenses across the entire NBA. No team will center their entire offense around 18-foot shots. It is a false equivalence.

No one is shooting 60 threes a game....
 
The game is simple
Whoever shoots the ball better wins
Whoever defends better wins
Whoever has the better players wins
This happens more often than not
Right now Jazz have none of these
