What's new

Should we give Jeremy Evans a huge deal this summer?

Only reason Jazz would over pay him is if they were in a situation like the Lakers with Jordan Hill and they need to spend the money to reach the league minimum. Between Favors and Hayward's contracts, I think they are near the minimum already. I do like Evans, but if they won't play him, it doesn't make sense to pay him.

I don't think people get it... This deal only works once over the cap. We'd have to sign our own free agent at that point not some other guy off the market. This isn't to retain Jeremy... This is just a cap asset. I'd say no if I was the millers, but if DL had better be damned sure he was going to use it if the millers did it.

This.
I love Jeremy, hes always got a good attitude. Really the only representation in the all-star competitions in a while too. If anyone deserves to get paid for nothing, it's this guy.
However, if we do overpay there better be a trigger pulled on a trade.

Either way I'm sure DL/QS won't disappoint. They haven't yet.

Cappy I tip my hat off to you for your patience. How many times can you explain a simple concept to public? It's like finding the center of a tootsi-pop.

Because he can jump and draw does not make him a "good" dude. He's just as entitled as any lazy punk multimillionaire. He has done nothing to improve since being here... I used to like him, but face it, he sucks.

Thanks for the opinion you arrogant slob (an opinion more justified by the available facts than calling Evans a lazy punk, BTW).

He has improved his jumper... His fatal flaw is he's too light in the post. He's been a fine guy to get spot minutes. He's a good dude because of the stuff he does in the community. Even as a free agent he still did the jr. Jazz tour of Podunk southern utah... That's worth 5 M right there.

I would actually rather do this type of deal with ingles though. I think he could get legit interest in free agency. We could retain him in case something good comes up in the trade deadline or during next years draft. I think you could justify it to the millers as well because he's a contributor.

Is terrible an improvement over horrible? Look, I really don't care what happens to Evans, I just think he's been a wasted roster spot for at least 2 years... I'm ready to move on, like I was ready to move on from Corbin.

Facts like Ingles showed more improvement in four months than Evans has in four years?
An inability to do something at an elite level is not evidence of laziness. My guess is that Evans would absolutely school you in a game of one on one basketball. Is that because you are lazy?
