Should Weiner Resign

Should the Congressman Resign Over Weinergate?

The apparent "different moral platform" Weiner ran on:

Lying to the voters is moral
Accusing others of lying, when you know very well they aren't(trying to destroy someone's reputation) is moral
Trying to convince others to lie on your behalf is moral.
Cheating on your wife of two years is moral.
Internet flashing is moral.

That is brilliant that you claim running anti-baby killing pregnancy crises centers (a heroic thing to do) would be a scandal for Dems...a scandal worth resigning over no less.

You can't make this stuff up.

Meh, It's not that I think that what he did is moral, I just don't really care whether or not it was. It has nothing to do with how he performs his job. As far as lying is concerned I'd probably lie in that situation too, but I don't necessarily believe this makes him untrustworthy in the future to anyone but his wife. I don't really vote for a candidate based on whether I think they are a good person or not, although I definitely wouldn't let him marry my (hypothetical) daughter.

Some may not care what their elected officials do in their private life but this isn't just about Weiner's private life. This is about Weiner's total lack of sound judgement and personal control. How can I trust him to make sound decisions for me and my country when he can't even make sound decisions for himself? It's like going to a marriage counselor that's been divorced several times.

Sex and being an effective politician (which Weiner is), are two completely different things.

Clinton is the prime example. The only thing Clinton hurt when he got his winky waxed was Al Gore

This is how I feel. I can't believe how many people on here say they don't care what this guy does and long as he is a "good" politician. To me it all comes down to character. Sure we all have our flaws, but I don't think you can give someone (especially a politician) the green light to do whatever they want in their personal time.

Who was the last non-flawed politician?

Jesus?

Flaws are one thing. Depravity, dishonesty, lack of integrity, incredibly poor judgement, are another. I agree that the character of a politician is important. I do not expect the Pope or Jesus as our next president, but they should be able to keep one freaking promise to their spouse. If a promise like that is so easily and casually cast aside, their integrity as a human being is in question imo.

I at least want the illusion that those leading our country care somewhat about being honest and honorable.

17?!

Welcome to my world, man.

Well, that explains why you are always turning down your wife. I always figured it was multiple office affairs satisfying you, but didn't really see how. Now I can imagine the word got out quickly. We all know women will beg to get a glimpse of a big one, at minimum. I feel for your constant struggles fighting women off.

Yeah, you'd think this is "No ******** Number One".

"But we play by different rules, which, are, NOTHING!" (read that Opera style)

Absolutely he should resign.

He sent x-rated pictures of himself, was caught, and then lied about it.

What other profession would tolerate this?
