Should Weiner Resign

Should the Congressman Resign Over Weinergate?

This is how I feel. I can't believe how many people on here say they don't care what this guy does and long as he is a "good" politician. To me it all comes down to character. Sure we all have our flaws, but I don't think you can give someone (especially a politician) the green light to do whatever they want in their personal time.

If this is his worst character flaw (sending stupid pictures on twitter and then trying to cover it up) than I'm really not worried.

Absolutely he should resign.

He sent x-rated pictures of himself, was caught, and then lied about it.

What other profession would tolerate this?
I find it hard to believe my job would care, unless it were to co-workers or something.

The apparent "different moral platform" Weiner ran on:

Lying to the voters is moral
Accusing others of lying, when you know very well they aren't(trying to destroy someone's reputation) is moral
Trying to convince others to lie on your behalf is moral.
Cheating on your wife of two years is moral.
Internet flashing is moral.

That is brilliant that you claim running anti-baby killing pregnancy crises centers (a heroic thing to do) would be a scandal for Dems...a scandal worth resigning over no less.

You can't make this stuff up.

It's more akin to a Democrat being caught clubbing a baby seal or secretly owning a company that clear cuts old growth forests. A Republican who got caught doing it would get many high fives in his party and would most likely get an invite from Rush Limbuagh to snort Oxycontin off of an ivory handled coke spoon. A Democrat, well, not so much, since their base are full of tree huggers and animal right wackos and since Democrats tend to campaign on those issues.

Saving babies is comparable to homosexual soliciting in a bathroom stall?

Lying to women to stop them from having abortions is worse than homosexual soliciting in a bathroom stall. That's why it would be a bigger scandal.

I was just pointing out the short attention span of the American public. In three months, no one will care. Probably less.

I don't think many besides his wife truly care now. Maybe they care about being lied to. In 3 months he will still be a laughing stock though.
