Not saying I think Iguodala is exactly what we need, but to say that Iguodala is on the same level of AK lost you some credibility.

Can't say what the prospects are for stashing a Big overseas, but I would think that would be KOC's preference. Doesn't mean he wouldn't just bring a Biyombo or Kanter on board and let competition sort it all out. But since we have to pay Memo, I would think he'd like to rehab his value as a trade asset which means less time for the 5th big whoever it is.

You actually raise a point that makes strengthens my feeling on ditching Al and still remaining at least competitive enough; Memo. The only way the guy is getting minutes is if someone goes, otherwise he will (or should) rot on the bench. Between Favors, Millsap (who can play the 3, but is not and should not be a full-time 3), Memo, and Biyombo/Kanter (if it happens), you have enough bodies to be okay. With Al, it turns into a legitimate logjam if Memo is to play AND if the Jazz draft a big. Favors isn't going anywhere, Millsap is efficient and on a cheap deal and can play some 3, Memo is going to demand time but probably shouldn't.

I don't know, everyone should take my opinion on Al with a grain of salt because I never liked the acquisition and try as I did to get into it he just fortified my initial opinion.

Everyone seems to think the best way to develop Favors is to play him 30 minutes a night, every single night. But we're still trying to win. And Favors is not polished enough to warrant leaving him out there even if it costs us wins. His offensive game is way too raw and, like any young player, he gets lost on the court for stretches.

I think he'll average 25-28 minutes. That means there will be nights he plays 35 and nights he plays 20. More importantly, the idea is to keep building his confidence along with his minutes. He's not even 20.

We're going to have 4 guys at the bigs next year like we should. To start the year, I'm sure Memo's minutes will be reduced to ease him in. As long as he stays healthy, the minutes will then get sorted according to performance.

Koufos refused to work out for the Jazz, too. Iggy was drafted ninth when the Jazz had the 14 and 16, so it might have been a refusal to work out for teams drafting after your projection.

The Jazz will have AT LEAST 4 bigs next year and all of them demand significant minutes. If they draft a big, that's 5 with the rookie (and probably top-10 pick) not having a chance to get on the court. Considering that Al is fool's gold of the highest order, will be the highest paid player, and will be relatively old for where the team will be at in a couple of years, he seems pretty clearly the odd man out to me.

If they don't draft a big at all, then whatever I guess. But I think they should and will.

Reread my post. No where did I say that they were on the same level.

However, both have/had two glaring weaknesses that, in my opinion, to overcome the positives.

#1 Waaaaaayyyyyyyy too overpaid. Neither can carry a team offensively. Yet are paid to do so.
#2 Inability to shoot.

Again, if we want an overrated SF that cannot shoot, lets just resign AK instead of trading away quality pieces for an overpaid Iggy. Iggy might be better at this stage of the career. But is that worth the cost? Have we learned nothing from the past 8 years?

Iggy is just too much money. And he is 27. Granger is 28. Both of these guys I don't think should be the "star" of any team. I think they need a superstar around them to help carry their team. I love great defensive players like Iggy, but he is not worth it considering the situation of this team right now.

I want the Jazz to get really young. I don't think the Jazz's main goal this off season/upcoming season should be to bring in a guy like Iggy or Granger, I think it should be to find a way to drop or get rid of players that aren't in their future plans (Memo, Raja, AK). I have no problem giving up being good for the next couple of seasons for a chance to be great in 3-4 seasons.

He's overpaid, like 4 millions a year as he deserves. He is almost paid like a superstar, but i would think about it. An athletic wing that can pass, play defense and drive to the basket, why not? depends on whether we can resign AK for 6/year or not.

Id much rather have Josh Smith over AI. I just wish there was a way we could trade for Smith over Granger or AI. Smith tore it up last night. And how many peple want the Jazz/Bulls to win this series? Im voting for Atlanta!

And I have to agree. AI makes too much money. He is very multi-skilled but Ak is a better shooter. But, it would be very fun team to watch. With a big line up. What would the Jazz have to give up though? Okur, Millsap, Evans, and the 12th pick for AI, Nocioni, Spieghts? I could really see this working our great for both Parties. The 76ers save a ton of money, maybe not this next season, but in the seasons after that. Once Memo's contract comes off the books. Which would make it easier to resign Hawes and Young this offseason. Utah will give away a ton of financial flexability for the next 3 years, But Utah would be deep. And I would use our 6th pick on a pg.
