What's new

Sixers ready to part ways with Igoudala.

Id much rather have Josh Smith over AI. I just wish there was a way we could trade for Smith over Granger or AI. Smith tore it up last night. And how many peple want the Jazz/Bulls to win this series? Im voting for Atlanta!

And I have to agree. AI makes too much money. He is very multi-skilled but Ak is a better shooter. But, it would be very fun team to watch. With a big line up. What would the Jazz have to give up though? Okur, Millsap, Evans, and the 12th pick for AI, Nocioni, Spieghts? I could really see this working our great for both Parties. The 76ers save a ton of money, maybe not this next season, but in the seasons after that. Once Memo's contract comes off the books. Which would make it easier to resign Hawes and Young this offseason. Utah will give away a ton of financial flexability for the next 3 years, But Utah would be deep. And I would use our 6th pick on a pg.

Harris/(Knight, Walker, Jimmer)
Hayward/Miles
AI/Nocioni
Favors/
Jefferson/Speights

Thats a pretty Amazing team

I'm not so sure on AK being a better shooter than AI. From the games I have seen (few) of the Sixers play, AI is guarded much more closely on his jumper. AK is generally left WIDE open and still clanks a good amount.

Would you trade Jefferson, Miles and our 6th pick

for

Granger & Hibbert

and would they? Any possibility to make this happen? (Key pieces getting Granger and hibbert while giving up Jefferson and whoever else they want).

Harris
Hayward
Granger
Favors - Millsap
Hibbert

I probably would. Hibbert gives us a clear 5, even though he is a bit slow for my liking. He can hit the midrange too, so he has to be guarded a bit outside the paint. Our wings would be dead eye shooters, we would have a fast PG, and Sap could start until Favors is ready to man the 4.

Would the Pacers do it? Not sure. I dont know how the front office regards Granger in terms to their future. They already have CJ Miles in Brandon Rush. I think they would really like having Jefferson though.

I doubt the Jazz would do this. I think they are excited to rebuild as a youth movement.

No.
Granger is not the type of player who can be "the guy" on a contender, and he's making over $50 million over the next 4 seasons. You can easily argue Al isn't good enough to be your #1 guy either, but he's only got 2 years left on his contract - by which time we'll know for sure if he can be the answer or not.

Jefferson & Miles

for

Hibbert, Rush & Posey's expiring contract to make it work.

We keep our 6th pick

Harris
Rush
Hayward
Favors
Hibbert

Than have 2 draft picks still to fill the bench. Biyombo and a wing player coming off the bench.

No way, Jefferson > Hibbert all the way. I'm not even sure Rush is an upgrade over Miles.

While Rush and Hibbert aren't much younger than Miles and Jefferson (if at all), they're still a lot earlier in their careers and even now know not to take every shot that comes to them (a problem with both Miles and Jefferson). I'd do either trade instantly if the 5 guys in the draft I'd want are gone.

Edit: But I think Indiana laughs the Jazz off the phone.

Link?

Koufos refused to work out for the Jazz, too. Iggy was drafted ninth when the Jazz had the 14 and 16, so it might have been a refusal to work out for teams drafting after your projection.

I don't have a link. It's been too long, but he refused because it was Utah. Not draft position. He had some quote about it. Weirdly so did Channing Frye...
