According to the Sloan apologists, every team in the league would be jumping at him.

Sloan Brow? Slopper?

I apologize for Jerry Sloan.
I am truly sorry, and very sincere.

By the way, did you know that Jerry Sloan is an honorary Sicilian?
He once saved a drowning boys life while on vacation in Sicily.
True story.

He's been on a mental vacation for years now.

I have a standing offer. I will bring motivation and expectation of effort just like Sloan. Unlike Sloan, I will watch, analyze and teach about game film (individually and as a team) without being prompted by the franchise player. Unlike Sloan, I will play the best combinations on the court, not necessarily the ones that I have grown accustomed to or who remind me of myself. Unlike Sloan, I will not become enamored with playing two PFs together, even though such a strategy has failed against the teams that matter for the past three years. And unlike Sloan, I will reward players with more playing time for good on-court performance and penalize players with less playing time for poor on-court performance; practice performance, which has a lower correlation to team success, will be less of a factor.

All for 1/10 Sloan's salary.
We will all enjoy watching you force the team down the drain pipe and into the lottery.

Welcome aboard. The ultimate prize in this game has been an NBA championship and that prize has alluded Sloan all of these years. Why not try something new? Why does it make you scared if Sloan is no longer coach? I tell ya, I think it's the lack of guts. Change is difficult and most people shy away from it.

And unlike Sloan you'd loose a lot more games than you'd win. The only reason this might be tempting is that we would get to read a lot more crap like this on the board, except it would all be about you.

I am impressed enough to nominate you ahead of carolinajazz for the Jazzfanz resident armchair coach position.

Then he promptly sat the boy on the bench for jackpotting around.

I simply don't see anything that Sloan does that is that special, and I see a lot that he doesn't do.

Just because some other NBA coaches coddle players doesn't mean not doing so isn't easy to do. And unfortunately Sloan has repeatedly shown poor communication skills which aren't taught in Coaching 101 but probably by the third semester.

The only thing that might take some time is learning the offense. Certainly I can get a hang of it faster than Al Jefferson is. And do you know how long it would take me to start benching players for not boxing out (which sounds like Sloan's strategy anyway)? A maximum of six minutes. It wouldn't be hard to actually do what Sloan claims to do but doesn't. Not much of a transition at all.
