What's new

Sloan wants to return.

71 years, high stress job, lots of travel, long days and short nights.

Ya, know my grandpa had this dog for years and years. We all loved that dog. She liked to hunt, but as she got older g-pa kept her in the truck during hunting time, even though she wanted to be out. One day I took her with me to hunt pheasants. I walked about 5 miles, she was happy as pup running and jumping through the grass and brush. She was panting when we got back to the truck. She laid down when we got to g-pa's house and never got up again. Dog wanted back in the mix because she loved it, but neither she nor I realized she shouldn't have and she paid the ultimate price for it.
Post reported to PETA and the ASPCA.

Sloan is better than Corbin, but do we really want to go back there?

Jerry has his faults too, and isn't getting any younger.

Jerry is a legend and we should all be thankful for the decades of hard work, sweat and heart he put into this org. Thank you Jerry, thank you.

Having said that I do not want to return to the past. It is time for the Jazz org to move forward. Bringing in Lindsey from S.A. and hopefully going with the C4 next year gives utah a good dose of that. Bringing Sloan back to coach puts Utah right back into the always contending but never really contending cycle.

Time to move on.

Cy makes a good point. The tweet didn't say he wants to "Return to Utah". It just said he wants to get back to coaching.

Bro - enough with the misleading title! I'm pretty sure half this board is sick of it.

I didn't mislead, maybe it was your own heart that mislead your brain while reading the thread title because you want Sloan to coach the Jazz again so so much.

I can't control your heart.

If it means Corbin is gone, I have no problems with Sloan returning.

This. But that's if it's Ty or Jerry.

SVG would be awesome, but it ain't gonna happen. I'd love to give Jeff H. a shot at it though. I hope the FO pulls their head out and signs him up rather than risk losing him altogether.

Another one of those pie in the sky things.

Sloan and Phil ran the old Weber State offense which was the old Chicago Bulls offense. It works fairly well and is easy for players to learn instead of that crappadoodle stuff Ty ran.

Great thread. It's been known that Sloan has been looking for a job for the past year now.

I didn't mislead, maybe it was your own heart that mislead your brain while reading the thread title because you want Sloan to coach the Jazz again so so much.

I can't control your heart.

Well then why don't you say "Sloan wants to return to COACHING"? The fact that left the word "coaching" out, tells me your intention to mislead.

Also your history of having done this sort of thing before is not helping...

Yea but if he wants to return to coaching who's to say he isn't open to returning to the Jazz? The guy lives in Utah and already goes to every damn game. Who am I to prejudge Jerry Sloan by assuming he wouldn't consider a return to the Jazz?

As a Christian man I cannot do what you are asking me to do. Which is to prejudge Jerry Sloan.

Corbin is Jerry junior, but at least Jerry could motivate. I don't care for either one of their vet first approach though. So no thanks.

?? How are you prejudging him if you say "Sloan wants to return to Coaching?"

You're prejudging him by saying "Sloan wants to return" in a Utah Jazz forum instead of the General NBA forum.

If you are such a good Christian, then post "Sloan wants to return to Coaching" in the General NBA forum then - that way nobody will be mislead thinking he wants to come back to coach the Jazz.

There could be a Jazz assistant coach position that might open soon...

But as a good Christian man I cannot in the right mind put Jerry Sloan in the General NBA Forum. That man has sacrificed heart, mind, body, and soul for this franchise. Putting him in there would be sacrilegious.

Again it would also be wrong of me to assume his return to coaching would not include the Jazz as a main candidate. So therefore I feel clean in my title thread and my conscious is free from wrong doing.

Bro.. then at least add the word coaching so it's not misleading...

Being long doesn't hurt, in fact some might like it.

It would pay to remember that.

But its redundant, we all know Jerry Sloan is a coach. You think people are going to think he is returning to poem writing, drawing, bank robbering?

No Jerry Sloan is a coach, so by putting "coaching" in the thread title is redundant. I assume everyone who can read is smart enough to figure that Jerry Sloan would be returning to coach, not pottery making.

But it could also mean "return to Utah Jazz" no? He's only been with us for 20+ years.
