What's new

So what does tonight`s draft mean for our future?

I think with us picking Kanter that Milsap is done with the Jazz and we will make more moves
Also to me it means that we aren't going into full rebuild mode and that Kanter is really gonna have to fight for playing time.

I would rather try to sign AK on the cheap than keep CJ. We also still do not have a solid player at the 3. I think Hayward is great at the 3, much better at the 2. I am hoping for a trade.

I assume CJ is retained, and after this draft I think he will be. Once we sign our rookies, we'll have 11 guys under contract.

C Okur
C Kanter (R)
C-PF Jefferson
PF Favors
PF-SF Millsap
PF-SF Evans
SF-SG Miles
SG-SF Hayward
SG Bell
SG-PG Burks (R)
PG Harris

Burks MAY be able to play some PG in the NBA, but we're surely gonna sign at least one more PG(Watson?), which would give us 12 guys under contract. That's without re-signing AK, Price, Fes, or Elson. Could be a trade coming, but not so sure now. This roster has a LOT of versatility; besides, trades need a trading partner...

I'll be pretty surprised if Burks actually plays any PG for us. That would be cool though.

I shop Jefferson over Millsap. Jefferson brings you more back and Millsap is the perfect sixth
man with a great work ethic and can show the young ones how to win. I like this team. Smart vets with Harris, Bell and Millsap and a ton of potential with Favors, Kanter, Burks, and Hayward. If you can move Jefferson for a legit sf who can score, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

It will be interesting to see if the Jazz can be patient through this rebuilding process. There is always the temptation to take a short-cut and make a trade. If the trade doesn't work out, it just lengthens the rebuilding process. I would rather see Burks play some point guard than Price.

I would hate for the Jazz to trade either AJ or Millsap now (barring an unbelievable offer), and then have to watch Millsap blossom into an elite 3 or Jefferson finally live up to his potential. Jazz should wait and see what they have before doing anything drastic. Wait until the trade deadline to make any BIG moves. Jazz aren't winning anything anytime soon.

I couldn't agree more.

Why is everyone so ready to trade Harris? He has not had enough time with this team yet, he is still relatively young but old enough to lead our younger players. Oh yeah, and he has been to the All Star Game. Who else on our roster has done that? Memo?

I wouldn't trade Millsap or Jefferson this year. Favors and Kanter are VERY young. I think a good year or two with Millsap and Jefferson mentoring the young guys is great. Both Favors and Kanter will get plenty of minutes. Unless Favors and Kanter show up and simply out play the two vets then you look to move the vets. Favors fouls too much still and Kanter hasn't proven he can play yet.

Man I wish the Jazz had a second round pick. I think there are some solid role players being picked. I think Washington got a steal with S. Mack. Honeycutt went to Sactown. I would pick Charles Jenkins if I had a second round pick. He would be great as a third guard and could be a nice backup.
