Something to Chew On...

The Blazers have some real complications being over the Luxury Tax and couldn't take back Kevin Love. So nix that idea.

Or George is apparently willing to sign an extension with Boston if Hayward goes there.
Hayward wants (wanted?) his buddies Hill and Ingles to return. The trade eliminates one or both from returning.

Is there a PF who moves the needle? Jazz could re-sign Ingles and trade for a PF. If Hayward commits, get Rubio, Beverley or even welcome back Hill, although I think he wants too much $ and too many years.

I'm not sure you Win a title if McCollum is a starter on your team, unless you're golden State. He's a great offensive talent but it just doesn't help when you score and then give up 2 more on other side... I'd stay with Mitchell higher upside.

Top 30? I'm not so sure about that

You should check out his stats when McCollum was playing the point while Lillard was out for injury this past season.

Just posted a Kevin Love trade. I think the Pacers and the Cavs would agree to that. Whether the Jazz would is another question. The Jazz need to sit down with Hayward and ask if he wants Kevin Love.

Mitchell will be better than CJ/Love.
Light years ahead defensively. But to keep Hayward, does Lindsey have to do something for the "now" instead of the future? And looking back, would Cleveland have been better off keeping Wiggins instead of trading for Love. Mitchell isn't Wiggins, but infusing a team with good, young (and CHEAP) talent is often better than getting a high-priced vet on the downside of his career.

If you really evaluate and look into Mitchell's career in basketball, you don't trade him for anything. He's going to get as much better as Kawhi and Butler did. He's pretty green when it comes to basketball, and is an elite athlete. Jazz don't have many elite athletes.

McCollum is an All Star-caliber player. It gives the Jazz a PG who can play on and off the ball, it encourages Hayward to stay, and it makes the Jazz a better team. But the Jazz would have to sit down with Hayward, see if that would move his meter and ask for 48 hours to get the deal done.

I just keep going back to the Clippers series where Joe Johnson abused the Clippers bad defenders but then in the series with Golden State, he was bad and it was because everyone was good defensively. McCollum would get exposed in the post season and the higher the stakes the more exposed he'd get. No thanks.
