I saw his name in a GLeague box score. They said he is trying to work his way back to the NBA. Was the 10th player taken in the draft. Would he be a potential reserve next season?

I saw his name in a GLeague box score. They said he is trying to work his way back to the NBA. Was the 10th player taken in the draft. Would he be a potential reserve next season?

Absolutely not. There is no upside in his game. There was a reason that he ended up in the G League. There will be a time and a day that a team will pull some talent from the G league. Today is not the day and the Jazz are hopefully not the team.

There are coaches who like Hawes and players who liked having him on the court. That said, he's so bad on defense.

If he returns to the NBA it'll either be on an awful team or on a team where an intelligent coach knows how to play him to minimize his defensive issues (which are more physical than understanding how to play defense; it's not a low basketball I.Q. issue with him).

Would have been great 3-4 years ago. Now? Not so much. Then again, he wouldn’t have hit the homeytennis radar 3-4 years ago.
