Sports Illustrated - Draft - Quotes regarding each prospect

"Shabazz Muhammad, 6-6 forward, UCLA: He had 27 assists for the whole year. When I saw that, I thought it was a misprint.

I don't know how anyone can be considered a pro writer and question a UCLA assist rate. I hope they keep this b.s. knock rattling around until its ingrained.

I can't make it through 10 minutes of Bazz highlights because of how bad that "offense" is. Worse than B-Russ's street ball thingy.

This. franklin gettin **** straight.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, 6-6 guard, Georgia: "He takes tough shots, but he makes a lot of 'em. He can score in a multitude of ways. He scores really high in our analytical projections. His weight is a concern because he'll have to defend some of the stronger two guards, but that's about it. He's a great kid, just a southern nice guy, not overwhelmed by the process."

Only knock on him is weight, and it's not even that bad, not like Schroeder or Noel. KCP is a diamond in the sand.

Plus, he was a really good defender in college, just beef him up and he's ready to go.

KCP will be that player every GM wished they picked.

The quote on Wolters isn't half bad either:

Nate Wolters, 6-5 point guard, South Dakota State: "An extremely smart basketball player. He has improved his shot and has a good runner. My main concern is whether he can guard a quick guard. He has a chance to make it in the NBA depending on which team he is with. If you look at his stats this year before he hurt his ankle, he shot like 48 percent from three. I'm not saying he'll be great, but he's definitely an NBA player. His first step is quicker than people realize."

Remember, he is 6'4", although his wingspan is tiny. He is a hardworker, and wants to become a better defender. I think it is criminal how he is so overlooked because of where he went to school. Some really great PG's went to tiny schools.

ya but even big al averages more assists than that (27 assists for the year would be less than 1 per game right).
Even if ucla's offense sucks it seems like he would still get a couple of assists a game..... I never saw a single game of his but I would assume he played a lot of minutes and touched the ball a lot.

No quote on Nogueira? What the?

No quote on Karasev? What the?

No quote on that Greek kid I can't remember the name of? What the?

Not actually deducing they didn't ask about the foreign entrees in the draft? What the?

LoL.. do you work on those Master Card Ads??

If anyone wants to see a pretty amazing stat... check out the # of steals Pope averaged.

Not bad for a guy mostly known for his offense...
