Are you two *******s kidding me? This is very well known. Go read some NY Times articles from the late 90's and a few scholarly studies.

The police force and judicial systems were probably racist but the reasons for solving the epidemic weren't, and we've seen significant decreases in crime ever since.

Can either of you SJW's tell me how much effect that has overwhelmingly had on the AA community?

Well, this could be a long discussion. But I'll see that you just admitted police and judicial system were racists which is what you originally responded to and claimed was not the case. Thanks for admitting you were wrong. Case closed.

I only claimed the programs alone weren't racist.

I've by far written more on the history of AA plight post-1950's in the context of those who study it professionally searching for solutions than anyone else on the board. (Nobody else has at all, or probably even bothered studying root causes).

It's a simplistic forum. I'm not re-writing an entire thesis in every post, but calling me a troll for not doing so is rude.

Calling someone dumb for saying something is racist that you agree is racist is also rude. That seems like trolling to me but maybe just a mistake on your part.

But yes I think you troll on here and that seemed like a trolling post, but so do all of us at times on here. That is the nature of message boards.

I have not seen any of your threads on the issues of black people in the US and solutions. I have seen a few posts but not much, ill have to keep an eye out for them going forward. I am sure you have studied these issues but claiming that you have done it more than anyone else and that no one else has bothered to study the roots seems like quite a bit of a jump and a silly claim. Personally I have spent a decent amount of time and was mostly the basis of my first undergrad. I am far far from the most qualified on this issue though on this board.

I also posted a response to your other posts about sexism in GD and obviously some posts about racism in GD so the discussions can move to an appropriate place.

So, you can tell me the socio-economic root cause that most who study this have reached a near unanimous conclusion on?

If so we can have a private discussion someday. Sorry for getting triggered. I'm passionate about this subject.

Crime has gone down, but our prison populations have increased many times over since the War on Drugs commenced in the 1980s. And which population has been jailed by far the most for drugs? Blacks, even though they do not use or sell drugs any more than any other race. The police and judicial systems have definitely been racist. I agree that wasn't the original idea, but that is how it has been implemented.

The War on Drugs would have been much better fought using money for treatment and prevention instead of corrections.

And you aren't the only one that cares about this issue.
 
I listened to Dan Le Batard Show today and, while he usually trends to the social justice side, he blew off Westbrooks whining altogether, harkening back to the day that Kevin Durant returned to play in OKC. I'd forgotten about that.

Basically, Westbrook wanted to talk about something else than getting his *** beat.

Now if you want to have a talk about stadium decorum, rather than unprovable race baiting garbage, we need to talk about alcohol in the stadium. Every really ugly thing I have seen from fans was a direct result of heavy drinking.

Most of the fans I talked to felt like they kind of liked the atmosphere of the stadium without the heavy drinking. But they need the revenue. . .

I reallylike Le Batard. He is very funny and I often like his takes. I agree with him on this one. I do think fans say racist things at the Jazz venue from time to time. I also know that people do at other venues. I think fans need to be better and fellow fans need to call out crappy fans. But I have also seen fans get booed by people around them and told to shut up plenty of times at Jazz games.

Players get worked up and angry like the rest of us but they need to be better. If a fan is really crossing the line get someone to take care of it. The staff will be very accommodating of these requests at every venue in the NBA. Taking a swing regardless of what someone says to an NBA player is not acceptable.


Now to address the second part of your post. Yes, most belligerent fans are drunk. Yes drunk fans cause more problems. But booze and sports just go hand in hand. Sports would not have become what they are without beer and booze in general. Going to a game without beer is awful even if I am not drinking. Most people are drinkers and used to being around it.

Utah is a little unique in that we have a big divide between drinkers and Mormons that is very hostile. The Jazz would die without alcohol sales. SLC has a very low percentage of Mormons and even SLC county is not really that high. A lot of people would stop going to Jazz if there was no booze and I doubt that many more would go to make up for it.
