Stupid Pet Peeves

I sort of debated if this belongs here, the reverse pet peeve thread, the law enforcement thread or something else. Whatever, I'm putting this here.

There is a YouTube channel called Behind the Mugshot

What they claim is that they show a sort of behind the scenes of DUI arrests.

What they show are attractive, often dressed for something like the club, college age women (often below 21), who have been pulled over for a DUI.

They don't show drunk 40 to 50-something fat dudes, who I'd guess are the prime offenders of DUI. It's all decent looking college age women, usually they mention that they go to the nearby college.

So my pet peeve? Well I am a man of culture! I am not watching police encounter videos so that I can watch attractive young women stumble around trying to do a field sobriety test that any $2 lawyer would have told them to refuse. I'm looking for the more meaningful hard hitting content... so I'm pretty deep into their library at this point, making sure that I'm correct about them only showing attractive college age women. I'm almost sure, just a couple more videos...

Maps which have land shown in white and water in grey/dark color. I don't know why but it drives me crazy, it feels like my mind automatically associates white with ocean and wants the land to be of a more "solid" shade.

The condition of the roads along the Wasatch Front is utterly appalling. Literally cannot drive on any road without feeling like I’m on a roller coaster that’s falling down.

I was in SLC a few weeks back. I could not believe how fing horrible the roads were. Just pot hole after pot hole in every neighborhood. At least on the East side of town from the U district to Sandy.

I don't know if this is a pet peeve as I've never seen this before. This screw was jammed into the gas pump nozzle which I of course didn't see, so when I stuck the thing in my gas tank, it got stuck. I thought it was some kind of new locking nozzle or something. Finally jimmied it loose and found I'd just gotten screwed. Whoever did this needs to be castrated in the worst way possibly. And the screw is firmly stuck in there, no easily removing it. What a douche.

It affected my ability to leave. For a while the nozzle just would not come out of my gas tank. The screw had gone into the opening and lodged itself in there. I had another dude come check and he couldn't remove it either. It was stuck in there wouldn't come out. Finally I managed to wiggle it exactly the right way to get it out. Either way it could have caused damage to the gas pump or the car or both. So why even do that? What kind of ****ing douche bag thinks that random damage to **** they don't own is funny? That's ****ed up. There is no way that screw could have gotten in that position without human intervention. **** that guy.

That sleave needs to be pushed in for the nozzle to work, so maybe they put the screw there so they could fill a gas can or the like without the back pressure stopping the pump.

Possible but when I used it the backpressure acted as usual, no difference. I couldn't think of a single legitimate use, unless they had a gas tank/can of some kind the nozzle kept falling out of or something like that. Still is a terrible solution, if that was even the issue. I still think it was malicious.

Ah, gotcha. I’d understood that it hindered you filling up. Definitely seems malicious.

Yeah I should have made that more clear. I was just too busy being pissed off. My inner Dexter was acting up.
