This thread is for discussion about all ideas and rumors for summer 2019 Utah Jazz player movement.
This is not to act as the draft prospect thread.

The Salary Cap for 2019-20 will be $109 million (up $7 million from 18-19).
The Luxury Tax Limit will be $134 million (up $8 million from 18-19).

For 2019-20, here are the contracts:
Gobert $25
Ingles $12
Exum $9.6
Crowder $7.8
Korver $7.5 ($3.5 ETO - but not happening)
Mitchell $3.6
Allen $2.5
Bradley $2
O'Neale $1.6 (team option - but not happening)
Draft pick cap hold $2
Lowest Salary Realistically Possible: $76 Million (includes minimum salaries to meet full roster requirement)

Favors $16.9 (team option on 7/6/2019)
Neto $2 (team option on 7/6/2019)
Niang $1.6 (team option - guarantees 1/10/20)
TOTAL: $94 million (if we picked up all team options)

These guys count against cap space until we either re-sign or renounce them
Rubio $22.5 cap hold
Thabo $6.8 cap hold
Udoh $4.4 cap hold


NOTE: I'm not moving on from the current roster or bailing from the current season. I'm starting this thread with the hope that we can centralize most of the summer discussion here instead of trying to track 5 or 6 different threads.

Tl;dr we’re running it back + draft pick. But don’t worry, people are on good deals that become valuable assets at the deadline, so we can’t fully evaluate those signings until we see what they’re cashed in for.

The dangling carrot of future flexibility.

lol. let's finish this season first. cuz how we finish it will have direct impact on how DL operate in the summer.

We take a nuanced approach to the past, rationalizing why things didn’t/couldn’t happen, but always look to the future as if it’s a guarantee that there’s not some kind of nuance or complicating factors that could compromise what our hopes for the future are. So, we’ll get a handful of people here saying it’s irrational to think we won’t do something big in the summer, while some of us will point to some of the realistic challenges that may prevent that. We will hear about how aggressive the front office is being looking for trades around the draft. Then we will hear how aggressive the front office is being on the free agent market. Ultimately we pick up Favors option, re-sign Ricky to a 2 year deal similar to Favors with a team option for the second year, re-sign Sefelosha and Udoh to minimum contracts. We will run it back with the exact same team plus whoever we draft. Then we can listen to Dennis Lindsey: "we explored every option and scenario to try and improve the team but ultimately decided that this group has such a unique chemistry and continuity that we decided to bring them back and focus on internal growth and development. We love the progress that Ricky has made since joining the team and we really feel like he can be a facsimile Jason Kidd. Our biggest free agent acquisition is a fully healthy Dante Exum, he's made great strides this summer and he has Jazz DNA in spades. We don't believe that Dante's injury prone and his best ability going forward will be availability. We're really excited about our rookie, we feel like he can contribute and be a rotation guy right away, and he actually has even thicker hand pads than Grayson Allen which is gonna help with ball handling, hook passes, pocket passes and shooting. Like Dante, he also has Jazz DNA in spades. Donovan is actually healthy this summer and has a whole offseason to work on his game, he's spending a lot of time here in Utah working with Johnnie Bryant and we feel like he's poised to take another step and begin the season in a great rhythm. We believe in our guys, we believe in their character, we believe in Quin and the coaching staff and their ability to develop talent. We've set ourselves up to have great financial flexibility going forward with some of the contracts that we've signed and the Millers have given me great resources to work with. I'm as excited as anyone for the season to start so that we can see what we have and try to find our level".

Didn't use the catch word "connectivity" or the phrase "we don't know what this team can do when fully healthy." Also didn't mention Favors is working on his 3's and Utah will have "internal development." Alluded to that last term, but didn't use those exact words.
