Summer League Notes And Discussion

I think Mitchell ended up with only like 8 pts, but he had like 4 steals and played blanket D on tatum, it was nuts

Tatum's comfort level vs Tokoto compared to Mitchell was night and day. Couldn't get to the spot he wanted to execute his moves, and when he was able to get the shot off they were off balance and contested looks. The only time he scored on Mitchell is when Exum botched a switch.

That 30 year old guy was a lottery pick 10 years ago.
Last year he was chucking pull up threes in Turkey, bringing the ball etc.
He plays center lol

Man the Jazz are going to be tough defensively this year. Teams are going to hate playing against us. Rudy, Donovan, Dante, Ingles, and Rubio. IF we get Crowder, teams might score 80 points on us.

Tatum started off the game by staring down Mitchell and the Bench when he hit his first two shots. Mitchell took exception. Tatum hit one more shot the rest of the game.

Kinda like when Kobe decided Hood wasn't going to make anymore threes??

Hope Mitchell goes to Vegas.

Won't make and sweeping declarations about Exum after Summer League. But he did exactly what he needed to do, looking forward to seeing him get more burn this season.

Mitchell is a rookie so he will play in the Vegas summer league. Not sure so about Exum, my guess is no.

A lot of my HS friends were New Orleans Hornets fans. They hyped up Julian Wright when he got drafted so much. Dude use to be an insane athlete but just never figured it out. I love him in Summer League. He seems to always make the right play and he even helped control pace a few times by making the smart reads. Obviously you arent adding him to your team or anything, but you might invite him to camp just because you know he can play and help get your team ready.

I was wondering what Butterfield did after last year's summer league as he shot the ball pretty well:

"On March 14, 2017, Butterfield set a new FIBA Europe Cup record when he scored 11 three-point field goals in a 82–110 win against Usak Sportif.[1] He also tied the scoring record by scoring 39 points.[1] In April, he won the FIBA Europe Cup title after beating Élan Chalon in the Finals."
