Summer League Notes And Discussion

I mentioned this in another thread but thought I'd weigh in here as well. Banner draft for us - can't think of another one off hand that yielded two guys that can contribute in their first year with us. All or most of the talk is about Mitchell and no wonder why as he is such a dynamic player with outstanding athleticism. However, I believe that Bradley is just as outstanding a prospect. His fundamentals and technique is just soooo solid. His offensive repertoire is actually even more developed than my main man Mr. Gobert. I hope he gets regular minutes at the four and the five because I know he can contribute (not just rookie development). I can see Tim Duncan written all over this kid, he's so fundamentally sound. (Along those lines I heard a S.L. commentator refer to Mitchell with a Joe Dumars comparison which I thought was also right on the money.)

Joe Dumars is a pretty good comparison for Mitchell. That would be amazing if he turned into that level of player.

Looking at the measurements testing Bradley was at 12% body fat, which was 2nd highest in the combine after pudgy Tyler Lydon.
If he can get down to 8% his vertical could improve to average (I hope).

I dont think dropping 4% body fat does that, but as he matures and adds strength, maybe.

He is really young and can definitely improve his vertical through training. It will also just improve by aging and playing basketball for the next few years.

I wish I could pick him up as a client...

P3 baby. Get him jacked up like Kanter. For all his faults, that kid was STRONG. Give Bradley that kind of strength and increased athleticism and he'll be great.

I wish they spent more time with P3. Mostly all P3 provides is testing/data. It takes more than 6 weeks to get any real progress with athletes at this level. They do help teach them how to move and that can help them with their future trainings.

Personally I don't understand why the Jazz don't use either a local sports performance place so the players can use it more often. Although we don't have a place at P3s level but if the Jazz kept the players here we would.

I wonder if the new practice and weight training facility will be more like that

Look how much Hayward improved by working with Bryant last summer. IINM, Bryant tan a personal training business before accepting a position with the Jazz.

And with Utah building what will supposedly be the best training facility in the NBA, I think the Jazz is looking to have their own P3. Bryant likely gets put in charge once construction is complete. That's my guess.

The Jazz work w/ P3. I'm sure their training staff works w/ the people at P3 and they give them the workouts they want players to do. Utah sends a skills trainer and fitness trainer to travel w/ every player. Bryant worked w/ Hayward, he isn't going to be put in "charge" of the Jazz's training facilities, he isn't a physical trainer. He works under Snyder as an assistant coach. Whoever the Jazz's head physical trainer is in charge of that.

They go to P3, do the testing, then the staff at P3 relays the information to the player and training staff so they can tailor a workout program to individual players.
