Summer League: Utah vs Detroit Mon. July 9th 1:00 MT

Kanter actually played pretty well in the first quarter and had two nice blocks, an assist, and took it hard to the rim on the first play of the game and got fouled. After that, well, he just sucked super bad.

Even on that one play when he "took it hard," he got no lift and tried to finish with both hands, neither of which barely got above the net. Dude's a bust. Sorry, I would almost never say that but he's a ****ing stiff.

Kanter does not have big potential whatsoever, except rebounding.
Turks and some Jazzfanz are seriously overrating him.
He will never be a star or even a scorer starter!
Scott Pollard/ Amundson type hustle and rebounding machine, drafted as the 3. pick due to fancy PR campaign.
and this coming from a Turk!

Oh please! Don't you say that like it's a fact! You profs, all the same!

I'm not saying neither that he's gonna be a star player or a perennial all-star etc. But I saw his games closely, the kid has a scorer inside of him. He's way better of a shooter than you see him in the NBA.

Just ask yourself this. Would he be this barren on the offense, if he was drafted by Cleveland or another similar team which could give him 20-25+ mins without worrying for not making the playoffs and sucking etc?

And if he hadn't that stupid Kentucky(No offense PKM) college career which basically didn't happen at all?

He could very well be a bust, but it's far too early to label him that. With that said, I think he could easily average a double double in this league. I think there were only 6 players who did it last year.

BTW, Deron Washington needs a refill.

:D Funny.

Seriously, this is the first game guys have played in a month after spending time working out. Most of the players here won't even be in the league and have any association with the Jazz. There's no rhythm or continuity. Lets give it a day or two to see if Kanter and Burks can get going.

Oh yeah, it's one summer league game, people. One game. Let's not make busts judgement calls now, please.

Reggie Evans could average a double-double if he got 35 minutes a night. The problem is he won't because no team's dumb enough to put him on the floor for that long because he can't do **** else but rebound. Like Kanter.

Kanter is a project people. Let's lay off the career implications from one summer league game. He was playing against a bigger guy, and it showed. Drummond is a baller on defense. The most disappointing thing I saw from Kanter was his body language. I think his early stuggles depressed him, and he just faded away. Let's hope he can improve playing against a smaller guy, and with one game under his belt.

Evans is in Orlando, but not playing?

Brian T. Smith: #UtahJazz's Jeremy Evans was teased by Alec Burks about becoming big time after signing his $5 million contract. To prove he's keeping it real, Evans — who was eating a cafeteria-style dinner with Jazz #SummerLeague team — held up a bag of popcorn.

Josh Robbins: #Utah #Jazz assistant coach Jeff Hornacek will be interviwed by #Orlando #Magic for their coaching vacancy via @Brian T. Smith

David Locke
Interesting play in 2nd Q - Kevin Murphy came off Jazz down screen with tight curl to middle and drew foul - very different than anything he did in college. Having watched the video of Murphy today and then watching him with Jazz in summer league really eye opening how much a player must work between his instincts of the past and his new teams type of play. Murphy will learn but he is used to playing one way and will have to change. Burks still needs to do that.

David Locke: Reminder on Kanter - 20 years old - was 2nd youngest player in the NBA last year

ditto
but
I thought a star or good caliber player would show flashes more frequently than Kanter did!
I want him to succeed but I am not holding my breath.
If I were a homer, then it would have been for Ersan Ilyasova of Bucks.

I am sick and tired of Turkish fanz giving a limitless credit for their (our) beloved bball stars.
ECTYA; I am a Turk and I hail from the beautiful city of Eskisehir, where Ilyasova supposedly was born! (cough..Uzbeki ... cough.. stan)

Wes Mantooth Moran, it's "to put him on the floor."

Brian T. Smith: Enes Kanter slow to get up and down court right now. Hasn't been assertive since opening tip. Bad body language, too.

David Locke: Pistons ran baseline pick the Jazz big and wing both went out to ball - weakside big must rotate (Kanter) didn't go at all -lacked awareness
