Suns fans want Millsap for their draft pick LOL

It's not much more stupid than some of the trade threads that have been started recently on this board.

13th pick for Millsap and our 2013 pick? Are they stupid? I'd do Millsap for 8th+ pick straight up. Nothing less.

>chuckle<

You're right. The title was so stupid that I don't think I even opened that one, even though it went several pages and stayed at the top for days.

More stupid than "Jefferson and Harris for Rondo and then tank it"?

That's the depths of stupid posts.

That's not THAT stupid (I'm ignoring the tank it part). Rando+filler big for Harris+Jefferson would be good.

Lottery picks are completely overrated when it come to trades. Millsap will be a better play than most lottery picks, even in this draft, but you probably couldn't the 14th pick straight up for Millsap.

Problem is, the only player that is expected to make over 3 million next season is Paul Pierce, so there really isn't much filler that can be used (they won't trade Avery Bradley). Our only chance was when O'Neill was still under contract

Getting the next Kobe Bryant and a top 5 PG for scrubs and a wasted season which we aren't going all the way anyways seems like a good idea to me.

Not to mention, Hayward, Favors and Burks get more minutes to develop...

Favors for both of Cleveland's picks was the dumbest trade I've heard and that was a deal that their front office brought up.

The question is how much traction an idea like this gets from the smarter posters, not that the idea is suggested by a moron.

And yes, this is retard turned full-blast.

Trade Millsap for cap relief? We're under the cap. If we want cap relief we unload Jefferson. If they want Millsap and next years pick for their 2013 pick (which we could have obtained by losing if we wanted to) then I'd counter with Jefferson for their 2012 and 2013.

I'm inclined to keep Millsap; but just for the hell of it....

How bout Millsap to Phoenix for Morris and their 2013 first round pick - unprotected.

Without Nash, Phoenix may struggle to win 30 games next year.

Let's turn this idea on it's head: We trade them Millsap for their pick straight up and get cap room, draft Lillard, sign Nash, then re-sign Millsap after next season.

I'd have Millsap on board before that happened and have him orally agree and shake on it.

I know that is all flimsy and he could still do whatever he wanted but this way he would at least know the plan.

As For Nash and Lillard behind him I am a big fan of that idea. Nash mentoring any PG of the mentioned PGs fromt his draft sounds like a good idea to me.

Nash is really old man. We need a point guard that can develop chemistry with the youth within the next 2 years.

That is where the drafted PG comes in. Nash leading that group and the drafted PG growing with The Four sounds awesome to me.

Not sure if you're pulling a Bluesrocker here, but Millsap isn't exactly "youth", no one else is leaving, and playing with Nash will make everyone better in the short and long term (especially the rookie backing him up). Signing Nash is also the closest thing that Corbin skeptics will get to a renewed sense of optimism (for good reason).

Most importantly, as it stands right now, there is nothing being developed at the position in the first place.

I think Rondo is a far better option since he can stick around for a long time to come, and play at a very high level. Nash is approaching 40. Your idea is passable ONLY if the Jazz can somehow get Lillard, and if he pays off. If the Jazz fail to acquire a young PG, or if he turns out to be a bust, we would have wasted 2/3 years with an incredibly old point guard, only to start the process again once he retires. I don't see why this is pulling a Bluesrocker.
