Supreme Court Justice Kennedy to Retire

Another day another Kavanaugh lie exposed.
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna915566?

In the days leading up to a public allegation that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh exposed himself to a college classmate, the judge and his team were communicating behind the scenes with friends to refute the claim, according to text messages obtained by NBC News...

...Kavanaugh told the Senate Judiciary Committee under oath that the first time he heard of his former Yale classmate Deborah Ramirez’s allegation that he exposed himself to her in college was in a Sept. 23 article in The New Yorker.

If only the author of this read the entire excerpt from the SJC.

I’m trying to post the pictures, but it’s not working.

Basically, they asked if Kavanaugh had ever heard discussion about the incident matching the description of Ramirez. He said no. Important that they asked “matching the description”. He also said later, this very same day, in the very same “interview”, under oath, that his friends had made him aware that Ramirez was calling around looking for dirt on him. That’s the reason we know she couldn’t remember if it was Kavanaugh or not.

So no, he didn’t lie. The news just didn’t do their job and research a little.

TL/DR: Kavanaugh knew Ramirez was calling around about him, he didn’t know the specific story she was talking about. Testified all of this on the same day, NBCNews only reported on part of it.

Here’s the twitter thread on it.

/trigger warning: the author is a conservative so most of you probably won’t agree with what he says

So I took a look and the transcript indicates that Kavanaugh was generally aware of Ramirez calling around to friends, the NBC article says 'the judge and his team were communicating behind the scenes with friends to refute the claim, according to text messages obtained by NBC News.' That reads to me as though the texts are regarding a specific refutation of Ramirez claims. Claims which Kavanaugh claimed to have no prior knowledge of prior to the story coming out in late September.

I had a friend who I had known since I was 2 years old. We lived next door to each other for about 10 years. He started partying with a bunch of date raping frat boy wannabes in high school. I partied with them several times, and they were slimy, but the end of it for me was when before a party one night a couple of them talked about taking turns on a girl I introduced to the group who I had known since middle school and for whom I knew this had been her first sexual experience. After the douchebag was done telling his story he looked at me, and I guess my facial expression gave away the fact that I was absolutely sick to my stomach. He said "What? You don't think that's funny?" I looked at him and said, "No, I don't. I think it's sad." I left and didn't talk to my lifelong friend much at all and never spent time with him or them again. He was in love with his cool new group of friends.

Anyway, I hope Kavanaugh gets what he deserves.

it's sad so many guys just go along with garbage like that. Hopefully it'll not be the norm as time goes on.

These women should just stop complaining. It's like they haven't even considered how fun rape is. Maybe if they stopped screaming "No, No, No" they might enjoy themselves. This dude went to Yale! Don't they realize how many women would die to get with a guy who went to Yale? They probably just mad he didn't marry them. Typical women. You hold them down and have sex with them and just because you didn't call em the next day they cry rape. Whatever. It's like so lame bro

I don't think Blasey-Ford's accusations are going to be enough to stop Kavanaigh from getting confirmed. Something else more credible would need to emerge.

The prosecutor's memo makes Ford's claim look specious.

The prosecutor hired by Republicans issued a memo that supports their nominee? Quelle Surprise.

Those dudes should run for office. They would fit right in

That memo is a joke. She says no reasonable prosecutor would pursue the case. Well no **** sherlock, there hasn't been an investigation yet, and what interviews there have been of Ford and Kavanaugh were done in a format that she herself ridiculed. Hell she only spoke to Kavanaugh for ten minutes lol.

But don't take my word for it:

Matthew Long, a defense attorney who once worked for Mitchell as a sex-crimes prosecutor, was quoted as calling her “the best” in a story in a local newspaper last week, before the memo was issued. On Monday, Long said he was surprised to see that she cited Ford’s gaps in memory as evidence of the weakness of her allegation.

“The things that she’s highlighting that say that Dr. Ford is not credible are the very things she has taught me to ignore and not rely on,” he said in an interview. The memo, he said, “demonstrates she’s abandoned what she knows to be true in favor of being a political operative.”
