Tayshaun Prince free agent?

If the Jazz choose to not accept the CJ Miles team option, I think we should try to pursue Tayshaun Prince to a 4 year ~24-26 million dollar contract. He is a great defender, pretty athletic and can score in isolation pretty easily. Plus his 3 point shooting is relatively good. Believe it on not, we need a couple of guys with veteran experience. Prince has been to ECF 7 straight times and the finals twice.

We had the Russian Tayshaun Prince for 10 years. It sucked.

Tayshaun doesn't play as much WoW, and we're not offering max money. When AK was playing, more often that not he played decently.

We'd be retarded not to offer him something in the 5m/year range.

Except Russian Tayshaun Prince was always injured, inconsistent on offense and overpaid. Prince is extremely durable. (Played all 82 games for 6 straight years) and he is way better on offense.

Well there was a poll a few weeks ago that said, "If we don't draft a SF - should the Jazz bring AK back?" and something like 65% of Jazzfanz voted "yes" for some reason, so those voters should prefer to pass on Prince.

I'm only curious (have no side in the debate) why there's such a strong comparison between AK and Prince?

I don't disagree with you. I don't really want either of them. And I definitely would not want the Jazz to pay more than 4 M per year for more than 2 years for either of them.

I would have loved to had Prince pre-Deron departure. But yes, I feel you (except I wouldn't give Andrei 4M -- not even league minimum).

Don't really want him, but I'd rather have him than AK 366 days out of the year.

Yep.

Would Prince come here? He seems like the kind of veteran who is more likely to resign with a team he thinks that is going to be competing for a Championship, rather than a team fighting for a playoff spot.
