Kinda have a point actually

Give me a break. Is there a single bbiq fan here that ACTUALLY believes Mason ****ing Plumlee could hold Cousins' jock?

Of course there is.... we ARE THE Utah Jazz!

Cousins is a bunch of tiers above Plumlee in talent. No doubt. Do you think this only has to do with him being a duke guy?

I think this is the disconnect. Some of us, myself included, were talking about taking Gobert or Cousins. That relates to the Jazz team or so I took it that way. I also think Cousins should make team US also but I do not want him on this Jazz team as it is constituted.

Yes, that was the context. Cousins is an incredible talent. But will a team with him as one of it's 3 max players ever be a contender? I have serious doubts about that. I would rather have a player like Gobert at the 5...at half the price (eventually) and have 3 max contract spots open for other players. Cousins, like Dwight Howard, is a me-first player. If he isn't the focal point of the offense, he whines and complains. Why do you think Thomas was traded? It was because he was too much of a scorer and wasn't getting the ball to Cousins enough.

Look at the SA system: no one in the regular season averaged more than 17 pts/per. That is incredible!

Yes. Absolutely yes.

You forget how difficult the WC is. Is Cousins a perfect teammate? Naw, but he's a hell of a player and he's too talented to not be on a contender some day. Again, why aren't we saying the same thing about Kevin Love? Dude quit on his country so he wouldn't hurt his trade value…now that's a bitch move.

Does anyone know when they will announce the final roster?

The more I think about it, the more I hope Hayward makes the team. I think it will really help his confidence, and I'd love to have him working with the USA coaching staff. I think it would help him tremendously with his shooting and defense to play with this group under those coaches.

15 man team is revealed August 22, and the final 12 member team is revealed at the end of August.

Well, what about Lebron? He isn't playing. Love wants OUT of Minnesota. He's due for a HUGE contract. I doubt I'd play in some crappy FIBA tournament and risk injury. Sorry to offend you international posters, but the World Championships just AREN'T that important to most Americans. We care a little more about the Olympics. I'll bet 50% of NBA fans don't even know the World championships are even being played this year.

It was different when the US had the first few versions of the Dream Team. Americans were fed up with sending college amateurs to compete against (and lose) to Euro pros. The rest of the world had surpassed our amateurs and that didn't sit well. But then we got bored again with blowout after blowout. And now, half of the US NBA stars don't play on the national team. It just isn't that important.

Yes, it does.

If they just wanted a good big man who can play a role, there are better options out there, namely DERRICK ****ING FAVORS!!!

Because i think we are talking about how a players attitude affects a team.on the court.
