Sounded like it was a perma/perma ban this time.
From the what I gather, there is no guarantee of reinstatement after 6 months. If Jason is feeling charitable once your 6 months are up and you ask nice he might let you back in.
The last time it was suggested HH was let back my response was "wow, really, him?" And that was about it.
This time my response will be far more vocal, though I really doubt it will make it past Jason anyway.
HH is a legend. Should be allowed back.

What was HH's last infraction that got him banned? Maybe I missed something, but nothing he did seemed that bad or harmful to the board.
I don't recall exactly what (and I'm too lazy to look it up), but there was something under discussion in the mod forum which may or may not have resulted in his 5th infraction. He went off on Jason calling him petty and vindictive, etc., so Jason banned him. I would be extremely surprised to ever see him come back under that screen name. I'm fully expecting him to continue to be a major pain in the *** with multiple alts.
