What's new

Thats more like the real Enes Kanter right now !!!

How do you actually now that? Can you somehow measure his athleticism? Or is it just the eye test? I actually agree with you when I'm watching him play but he is not as bad as you might think! I looked up the measurements of Enes, Favors, some other young prospects who were drafted the last couple of years and the averages of the combines.

- Enes has an average size for a drafted Center and he is about 1 inch smaller than Centers who were drafted in the top 15. His size compared to a PF is above average in all categories.
- For a Center he was overweight when he came in to the league but right know he is about average. Compared to PFs he is still overweight.
- His wingspan is below average for the Center as well as the PF position. He loses about 2 inches against drafted Centers, about 3 inches against Center drafted top 15 and PFs drafted top 15. He has about the same wingspan as PFs drafted top 30.
- He has an above average reach for a PF. He has about the same reach as a drafted Center but a lesser reach than Centers drafted top 30 and 15.
- His hands are gigantic.

Athleticism is not just the leaping/jumping ability of a player. Strength, agility and speed are also key components and have to be taken in to consideration.

- His no step vertical is bad compared to other Centers and PFs.
- His max vertical on the other hand is above average for Centers drafted top 15, about 0.5 inches shorter than PFs who were drafted and about 1.5 inches shorter than PFs drafted top 15
- He has above average strenght for both positions
- His agility and his speed are also above average for both positions which is pretty intersting because average PFs are just 6'7-6'8 and should be more agile and faster.

Enes might not be the most athletic guy but he is not that bad. He was underperforming earlier in the season but it seems like he is getting it together.

FYI Derrick is just a beast!

Oh WOW! He has really big hands!

What's your point?

A lot of fun watching this kid play right now. Kanter turned the ball over a couple of times early in his first shift - he didn't slump his shoulders and get down on himself. Unlike earlier in the year he's maintaining focus even after a bad play - it's really that simple.

It's good to see him getting mad when he makes a bad play instead of just getting upset. Other players won't like him when he's mad.
