I called the Mike Conley trade the worst trade in our franchise's history last summer. I ate a little crow towards the end of this year and during the first round.

After watching the 2nd round and knowing we still owe a pick on the deal, it's definitely not a successful trade. It's not the worst trade in franchise history either.

I will continue to say this - With Jae Crowder, we beat Denver last year. And with Jae Crowder, we beat the Clippers this year.

I'm so sad everything happened like it did. So sad. This sucks.

So now not only did we heavily over-pay to rent a guy for what amounts to one full season of basketball over 2 seasons due to injury, which should have come as no surprise to anyone given his injury history, but it's also highly likely he walks and we get nothing at all back in compensation, or we end up overpaying again to watch him play 2/3 of a season.

I think we can definitively call this a failed experiment and maybe one of the worst moves by the FO we have seen. Unless they can somehow salvage some assets from this scenario or Mike can miraculously overcome his mounting injury history to actually contribute next season when we overpay to keep him.

No matter what, it is clear we went after the wrong target, and overpayed to get it.

I hope the FO manages to salvage something from this fiasco, but I seriously doubt they will.
 
Mistake Mike proved to be Mistake Mike. What a flop… he sat out like 90% of playoff games. I hate him, I hated the trade from day 1. I don’t understand why anyone would want him at this point. He’s a ****ing fraud.

Real simple answer is that George hill didn't help us get the best record in the league and the #1 seed. George hill wasn't an all star either.

I had way more fun watching the jazz this season than any season with George hill.

Having said that, I was always against the Conley trade and very vocal about it all along.

George Hill didn't play with DM or we might have had the best record in the league. The George Hill trade I really liked and I don't blame the FO for that one. The problem is they repeated the process over and over again. This whole thing really is George Hill's fault for leaving.
 
Whoever the **** is dumb enough to sign Conley away from the Jazz are gonna have to allow him two years to get acclimated. At 37 years old he'll be up to speed and be ready to play every other game. Also don't count on him in the playoffs.
 
Hoops Hype had a list of available free agents and Mountain Mike is No. 3 on the list behind Kawhai and CP3. He is going to want to get paid. They are quite a few Jazz alums on their list: Kanter, Burks, Jeff Green, Ed Davis, Bradley, DedEx, Korver, Mudiay, Tucker, Neto, Willie Reed and Grant Jarrett. Wouldn't this board be ablaze if DL signed the alums and cut everybody except Rudy, Spida and Clarkson.
