I think it's still a little too early to say this, lets see how the offseason plays out first.
TY for such a thread. I've been harassed, called all sorts of names, targeted, ridiculed around here for advocating, the correct strategy for the entirety of my posting history. I showed up THE DAY-OF, the HOUR-OF
WASTEFUL TRADES bad draft picks,
WASTEFUL SIGNINGS and called spades-spades, and ppl were ready to tar-and-feather me, but I was right, I called Trey Burke a terrible pick like a year before that draft even happened, and also was solutions based in saying Schroder was better, that was 2012, now were' here at the end of the decade and still dont have a PG, and yet everyones MOSTLY happy with the job they've done..... I always said I was gonna be right too, it was obvious... DO WE EVER GET TO HAVE THE CONVERSATION ABOUT HOW OBVIOUS IT WAS? Cuz my stance is --- IT WAS REALLY ****ING OBVIOUS (prove me wrong...) ..
Lemme make this very clear. Ronald Regan read my lips style;
Utah has something.
Utah also has something not nearly as good as it should be if they played their cards correctly.
Utah has a chance to get absolutely no return, on Paul Millsap, Gordon HAyward and Derrick Favors, 3 of the best players they've held the rights to in this decade... and to call the return for Enes Kanter anything less than pitiful would be overstating it... Burke obviously pitiful return aswell.. Seems to me they coulda used all the help the could muster ----- NO? The failed at that... Didn't strike when the iron was hot... Do i even need to post some of the rumored Suns offers for Hayward? Those assets woulda been nice, instead y'all got memories of 1st rd exits to cherish LMAO.
in todays west, thats a deathknell, you've gotta be at the top of your game to not get clowned, think about this next time you're about to puff your chest out about your Jazz --- the team that punked them, Houston, got royally punked by a team without their best player, the very next round..
It's funny because they've hit 2 home-runs in the process, but when you think about it, those home-runs are the only thing holding this thing together, it'd have been long collapsed(in Brutal fashion) without those long-shots... but if were doing baseball comparisons, Utah is like a team who's got good (but not great) pitchers who often bomb in the big stage, and they've got good hitters, but they dont really have nearly enough power or speed to make up for the lack of power, plus; their fatal flaw is they dont bring in enough runners in scoring position in the big games, they play a losing game, a losing hand, a losing strategy as the competition increases...
Utah in horseracing terms is just a pace-setting horse... Is this team really built for the final furlongs? or are they built for a hot start and to peter out when its time to really win?
In boxing they'd be called "a gate-keeper" Do you get it?
It feels like Utah is like one of the **** teams in formula 1, like they have an outdated car, that doesnt have the engine or the chassis of the top teams, but they are steadfast on trying to push the most out of this LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD.... and I mean, ppl show up to the games in Utah right? top-10 in attendance every year? business is good for them...
Utah needs to emulate THE YANKEES... now thats somethign that ppl will really hate to hear, i've brought that up years ago and it gets all sorts of hate... It's TRUE THO. The Jazz are COMPLACENT,
THEY ARENT CHAMPIONSHIP-ORIENTED ENOUGH FOR MY TASTES listen to Rudy --- sounds to me like he might know it already, he's unsatisfied, as he should be. For all the hate the Yanks get, they are above all else, CHAMPIONSHIP-ORIENTED, even they know to sacrifice the immediate for the future tho... and this is where Utah and the Lindsey regime FAILS, and I'd love to actually have a mic and a camera chance to grill the Utah front office ppl about this, cuz to me, if they actually have a good answer for these questions --- they should make those answers more public... what goes on here is lame... there's really a small-market inferiority complex, thats what I detect, certainly from the fans, but I see it emanating from the franchise itself, which of course means emanating from upper management...which ofc emanates from ownership... So I really wonder what is the real objective here... I personally think its more community based, and business based, than championship-based... /endrant
