The Bad Calls Have Never Been This Bad

Or Hayward would have gotten early FTs in the 1st half when he was getting hacked and gotten into a FT rhythm and hit the shots he got later in the game.

Overall I agree the bad calls on both sides probably balanced out, but I think the style the refs went with reffing really put us at a disadvantage. Hayward should have had a lot more FT attempts early IMO if the reffing was consistent with how they usually call it. FTs early in the game are easier (legs arent as shot and mentally easier) and would have allowed him to get into an offensive rhythm (very important for Hayward).

I didn't think it was the worst lopsided officiated game we've had all year it was just the bad calls were so bad. The Thompson non-call was pretty flipping bad too, but I was happy to see them call the off ball murdering here and there for Hayward. That is the stuff I get most frustrated by...

Another note... how the hell did Bogut not get called for one defensive three second call. He never guarded Rudy and never left the paint. You could have called it on literally any possession... That guy gets away with more moving picks and grabbing than anyone and I don't understand why.

Omg the bias.

How about when Gobert literally grabbed Thompson as he was falling? Nothing. The game literally stopped because everyone knew it was a foul.

We shot a ton of free throws last night (and missed them) the refs were consistently bad both ways.

We have definitely had some rough calls this year but last night if anyone was screwed it was GS.

Overall I think Quin needs to go nuts on them more often when they miss a call. It would help in the long run.

Fully agree with everything here except the Quin part. I dont think we need a coach and/or players to act like kids throwing a temper tantrum at calls. No reason to stoop to that level. Resepect the refs and have a conversation about bad calls and they will see when you are right. They review the games. If we are consistently getting calls against a player wrong then submit video evidence. I dont need us being the drama euro style teams/players that are flopping and crying like little bitches about calls all the time. Be adults and play hard. I love how Hayward acts in this regard. Most the time he gets frustrated and talks to the refs in between. Frustration does boil over sometimes like last night and emotions get hot but does not mean that is how you should act night in and night out.

Leave acting like a little bitch to the rest of the league. No one respects Cousins more for acting like he does, no reason for more players to do it or coaches to do that.

I would have to agree. This year is the worst officiating I have seen so far as the refs hosing the Jazz. It's been unbelievable. You would think after Andy Larsen showed that End of Game Two-Minute summary of calls for and against teams in the NBA with the Jazz coming out much worse than any team in the league that it would've eased up, but it hasn't.

I would love to think this strategy works but it doesn't. Hayward and Quin are beyond respectful and they get the shaft hard... Favors is the same.

Pop gets techs... Kerr gets techs... As long as you don't go sheed/cousins I'm inclined to believe complaining works. CP3 is basically allowed to commit battery and assault all game and he complains as much as anyone.

Stupid example because these refs are pros but they are still people. I coached flag football this year and there is a team with screeching obnoxious coaches. The refs made a call they shouldn't have and I asked for an explanation... The ref clearly frustrated said look those guys are screaming in my ear what do you want me to do.

Refs don't want attention ( most anyway) and when you challenge them they are getting negative attention that they want to stop.

I wonder if LHM were alive, if he'd contact the League Office and make a complaint, the way Mark Cuban does. Maybe Greg should do something, gathering the information like Andy Larsen and present it to Mike Bantom, maybe it would help. I noticed during a break after a call that was questionable that the camera fixed on Quin and behind him in the row behind the bench was Greg wide-eyed with a incredulous expression.

Cousins is #1 in the nba in free throw attempts per game doe

That is why I used him as an example. I have 0 respect for him and would never cheer for a little bitch like him. If that is the type of player and team people want I guess we have the wrong players and coach. I however love how Snyder handles himself and how the team handles themselves. We might not get the calls, which I think has little to do with that, but we have self respect and our team tends to act like professional adults, not like little kids who flop and cry to the refs every chance they get.

Maybe we can trade for Harden and Cousins and we have a dream team who needs naps in between their cry sessions but we get all those extra trips to the foul line. We could send our players to soccer camp and teach them to flop better and pretend to be hurt every time someone comes near them and tries to always get the refs attention.

I was just pointing out that it works

Thats a ref problem and Jazz need to bring that to the leagues attention. I think the NBA should notice how their players and coaches act and try and stop that, its embarrassing. NBA is more and more becoming like soccer with complaining and flopping. Stop teaching kids coming into the league to act like that and giving them attention for throwing fits.

No reason to stoop to their level.

Last night against the Warriors we didnt lose the game because of the calls. There were bad calls both ways but probably more bad calls against the Warriors. We lived at the FT line but couldnt make them. I guarantee refs behind closed doors complain and dislike players/coaches who always throw a fit about every call, especially the ones that the ref made the right call, which is more often the case.
