What's new

The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

March had a net +236,000 jobs and unemployment is at 3.5 percent, a ridiculously low unemployment rate. On a personal level, my wife and I have never been wealthier! Both cars are paid off, 401ks have thousands, paid off some leftover hospital debt, and are making plans for a fun summer vacation! This economy is rocking for us!

Those complaining about the economy in Utah should maybe take a look in the mirror instead of complain about the president. In most sectors of Utah’s economy, especially along the Wasatch front, things are fine. You just have to put yourself out there. It’s anecdotal I know, but several neighbors and even my brother recently switched jobs. All for more money. If things aren’t going well, try a trade school or college. Make yourself more marketable and for the most part, you’ll see benefits. We aren’t living in 2008 or 2020 right now. I remember trying to get a good job in 2007-2010, I’ve lived through a severe recession. This ain’t that.
Ya my life is better right now than it's ever been. I just got a huge raise, got on dayshift, bought a brand new 4runner with only 2 miles on it (it's already completely paid off. No car payment!), the drought has been stymied a bit, my family is all healthy and happy.

Life is good

All left leaning sources... Proof how out of touch Democrat voters are.(why can i not unbold this?)

Why do I constantly talk about trump? Because every one does. He is constantly in the news. Every time i go to yahoo there is trump on the front page.
Well to be fair, sites like yahoo and most news sites track your viewing habits and present you with more stuff they think you'll click on. So it's a vicious cycle.

Having been in about 10 countries in the last few months I think the economy is struggling everywhere in the world. Every place I have been people are complaining about inflation and financial struggles in general. For me its been a good couple years but I feel like I am an exception.

Happy for you, and jealous, I would love to be able to travel that much, that is awesome!

I have been in a good spot for the past couple of years, but now our company is seeing business dry up. We are closing 3 facilities, and tightening down on leadership roles, so I and a couple of other mutli-site managers might be on the outs. I have been through a layoff or restructuring 4 times in my career, this would make a 5th. And it doesn't look good right now, as after Friday this week I am just doing support work, and don't really have any home sites to work with, so what then? Remains to be seen. To stay with the same company we may need to relocate, maybe as far as North Carolina (I am also considering similar roles in Texas, Florida, and Georgia). We want to stay in Cali, but there isn't as much hiring going on here especially at higher management levels, so right now it's a bit concerning.

At least the people who want to abolish capitalism get their capitalism made 4 runners that cost a lot less 3 years ago(see the final link. Terrible flex bro) . Screw the other hundreds of thousands losing their jobs because all Democrats can talk about is Trump instead of the current massive failures of the guy they elected. Just Trump, nothing else, literally. And no... It's not capitalism failing... It's the Democratic party. Not Trump... Democrats. At some point they are going to have to grow up and look in the mirror. Unity though...

This is actually frustration, not trolling as I will be accused of.

Disney Begins Second Wave of Layoffs, Aiming For 4,000 by Thursday

TOPLINE Disney on Monday started implementing its second wave of layoffs in recent months, as part of a massive restructuring plan announced earlier this year, following large-scale layoffs last week at Whole Foods, Meta, Opendoor, Lyft and Deloitte, as high inflation and economic instability continue to push major U.S. firms to reduce their head counts.
Layoffs are up nearly fivefold so far this year with tech companies leading the way

Buying a car is not the flex Democrats think it is...

(CNN)It has almost never been as hard to buy a new or used car in the United States as it is today, despite improving supply issues and inflation beginning to steady.

Vehicle transaction prices — the price you actually end up paying after any dealer discounts or markups — have been climbing higher and faster since 2020 than any other point in more than 35 years, according to recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

I hope you find your landing spot before events happen to you. Be active now. As you are looking around, I would highly suggest taking off any dates you have for your education on your resume and only include the employers you've worked at in the past 15 years. I switched jobs within the past couple years and making those changes to my resume had a huge effect in the response rate. Don't be old on paper. I know how un-fun job insecurity is. Also, Cali is nice but it is not everything, especially when the part you are trying to cling to is in Riverside.

Maybe, but your garage is unfinished. You've got plaster over the drywall fasteners, no texture, no paint, so lame.

Just shows how powerful and genius Biden. He, all by himself, tanked the economy of the entire world.

Who wants to abolish capitalism?
I got way more for my truck I sold than I could at any other time. Used vehicles were being sold for more than brand new vehicles due to new vehicles being unavailable and people having to wait months to get them silly.
I could have sold my 4runner the day that I bought it for about 10,000 more than I paid for it.
My 6 year old truck that I hated almost completely paid for my brand new 4 runner that I absolutely love. And you see that as a negative thing apparently lol.

Ya I tend to not care about the appearance of the location that I just store **** in.

I love how people are so confident when they place all the blame at Biden's feet yet absolutely never provide a specific cause and effect that goes from anything Biden did specifically to actual harm to the economy. They just say very vauge **** like "printing money" which has been standard practice in the U.S. since we left the gold standard. We've done just fine printing money, that's clearly not the issue.
