I feel the same way about Utah. God’s country.I just remember that Rhode Island was such an amazing state. I want to take the family back on an east coast trip so they can see how beautiful it is.
I’ve always preferred red, tomato-based Manhattan clam chowder. Rhode Island chowder is clear, it’s very good as well. New England chowder, milk-based, not so much…They sell chowder in a can? interesting.
I am the polar opposite. My mom has a cream-based new England style clam chowder recipe that's the best I've ever had. Hands down. And in general I prefer new England style. Second is clear broth. We make that style from time to time. Last is the Manhattan style. Just doesn't do it for me when it comes to clam chowder.I’ve always preferred red, tomato-based Manhattan clam chowder. I’ve seen threads on Facebook where Rhode Islanders argue with each other through hundreds of comments, lol. Best bowl I ever had was a bowl of clear chowder that a friend of a friend made for us one night. Decades ago, when I was in college. I still remember that bowl after decades, lol. And it’s not like I have chowder all that often, none at all this past summer. But, Rhode Islanders are funny, and insecure, due to being the tiniest state. So we go on Facebook and engage in “chowda” wars….I am the polar opposite. My mom has a cream-based new England style clam chowder recipe that's the best I've ever had. Hands down.
